    I’m sensing a touch of self-censorship here.

That’s how you find out that babies can talk, but only to each other, that all criminals do celebrate tricks to get away with something, but can’t outwit teens, and something about don’t accidently cause yourself to not be born by going back and time and dancing with your future mother.

We have to remember this strip takes place, or is supposed to take place, in the 1980s and there’s no Internet where Miles can look up what “dyslexia” is about.

Absolutely! Over the years I saw incredible artwork from my kids with dyslexia. They have a unique view of the world. Look up how many actors are dyslexic!

Audio, visual, reading/writing, logical/analytic, social, solitary and kinesthetic, are the 7 presently acknowledged learning styles. Schools are finally accepting that not everyone is suited to reading about the subject from a book, but can, and do, learn in other methods. Dyslexia is a communication difference that impacts the reading and writing style of learning. It’s too bad the education system only tries to modify the child and not the way the material is presented. In my reading about a famous cartoonist, he was placed in an Army communications unit and his job was to re-write training manuals as comic books, heavy on the illustration. More recruits passed the training after those changes were made. The comic re-write was applied to many manuals with positive results.
