    In an early BC comic strip, one of the guys was a beatnik drummer in a brief arc, and he did a lot more than bonk bonk. Something like flam a diddle diddle. When the strip showed up on GoComics classics, a commenter said that the noises were actual drummer notations, not just random cartoon sound effects.

    Maybe those late 1950s cavemen were more advanced than we give them credit for…
