I had a cat who would sit on the back of my chair and lick the top of my head. Now we have a cat and she’ll lick my arm a couple of times, and then bite me.
A cat’s tongue is designed to rip meat off bones. Purring and head bumps is good enough for me.
Affection you give is returned. It’s a relationship. Cats don’t slobber but sometimes drool a bit while purring.
She must have a chili stain on her hand.
