I’ve had a cup of Joe every morning for nearly 70 years but rarely a second. That is unusual from what I know of coffee enthusiasts.

The first cup from Mr Coffee is good but the hot plate cooks the coffee and it becomes bitter.

My home-brewed is the only coffee I ever drink. Pennies a cup vs dollars a cut is a no-brainer.

I grew up with the smell of coffee and cigarettes, and never took up either habit. If a person were popping either caffeine or nicotine in pill form, while telling you they just couldn’t wake up, make it through the next few hours, and/or function properly without it, everyone would be very worried about them.

My little ol’ schnoz ain’t workin’ like it used to, and the taste buds seem weak and/or few, but I still enjoy my morning coffee, too. Meh, probably just out of habit.

Good morning y’all! When Arlo and Janis finally make the move, a morning cup of coffee, in their favorite mugs, will make it feel like home. Some things never change.

I love coffee in the morning. The silence of the house, the sun and the trees framed by the window, my book and my cup. Best part of day. Later afternoon is tea in my bone china cup, a cat on my lap, maybe soft music, and the book. In between, laundry, errands, emails, and the usual stuff that must be done. No wonder hot beverages send a message of tranquility.

When we go visit the majority of our grandchildren, we bring our coffeemaker with us to the hotel. No trying to get by with the two-cup maker theysupply, we has the 12 cup Brewstation.

When I was teaching, there was a morning when I didn’t get my coffee…and my first hour class got the pop quiz from Hell…I did throw it out…but after that my students would ask if I’d gotten my coffee before they said good morning…and if I hadn’t…one of them would go to the office and get me a cup…lol…

We got a nice espresso maker a few years ago and I have cut down on my coffee consumption. An Americano in the morning and one in the afternoon. No more pot of coffee a day and tastier too. Well worth the $300.00.

Wake up to strong winds with a sleet chaser, get out of your warm sleeping bag, put on your foul weather gear, grab your Coleman stove, take it out of the tent, light it up, put on a pot of water and prepare your instant coffee packets from your field rations. Pour the coffee into each thermos, then hot water. Close up the thermoses and prepare your instant the mugs for the troops. Wake each one with a coffee. No one complains and the duty rotates for all in the tent. Coffee at that moment in time tastes better than anything you ever had at home or at a coffee shop. First words out of my mouth, “Ahhhhh, plasma!”

I have a cousin who got me into the habit of traveling with a small percolator on every road trip. Make a pot in the morning, have a cup and fill up your thermos, then you have great coffee on the road all day. Much better than MickeyD’s or StarYucks.

Husband and I are not coffee drinkers. When we got married decades ago we got a Mr. Coffee type coffee maker as an engagement gift. Okay, even if we don’t drink same – we do (did) entertain and others would want coffee.

First guests were college friends we close to at the time. I went into the kitchen to make coffee – had bought a can of same and had the coffee maker setup. I took out the instructions and was carefully filling the little coffee measurer and pouring each measure into the top section of the coffeemaker. I had the instruction book in front of me. One of our friends walked through the kitchen and could not believe that I needed the instructions to make coffee!

Just went and looked in the storage closet/pantry as I am in the kitchen – I don’t see the coffeemaker there at all. Been years since we had any company (due to having bed bugs and having to get rid of them – we don’t let anyone in the house or go to anyone else’s house in hopes of not getting them again) and have had no need for it. Not sure it would even work any longer.
