I suppose there are different types of grudges. One type is the “active grudge”, where one complains and dwells on being wronged, simmering in the stew of resentment. The other type is the “passive grudge”, where one simply writes the other person out of their own life. I do the latter.
It’s like that old saying “A woman will forgive you but, she’ll never forget about it. Whereas a man will never forgive you but, he’ll forget about it.”
Never have had a grudge against anyone – not even the neighbors who park their cars so we cannot see to pull out of the driveway. Don’t particularly like sister-in-law, but she is how she was raised so no grudge against here and her parents are long gone.

Carry too many grudges too long and you will wear yourself down.

I’ve always found the grudge is remembered long after the cause was forgotten.

I grew up with aunts and uncles like that. My siblings and I are now in our 70’s and 80’s and we are determined not to be that way.

I’ve learned to just turn the person over to God and move on. He’ll remember when the time comes and ‘push the UP or DOWN button’ accordingly.

You’re a lucky plugger if you have no wounds so deep they can’t be forgotten.

Some grudges take no energy at all to carry.

My mother was proud of her father saying once he held a grudge against you he never forgot. My comment was that is so sad. She never understood that.

Forgiving is much easier than forgetting.

Pluggers tend to be the ones who didn’t carry grudges when they were young enough to do so; that’s how they lasted so long.

I made an appointment with all of my resentments for last week. We were suppose to meet on Fri. but they never showed up.

pluggers are too tired to carry anything including a grudge

All you have to remember is whether or not it was important. Details are for non-grouches.
