On the bright side, grocery shopping is already done!

NEVER have Brutus go grocery shopping on an ….. empty stomach!!!

She is right, if you want to save money, never shop on an empty stomach!!!!

I never grocery shop in an empty stomach. I hardly ever go in one anymore. I order it online, then go pick it up, or if I’m feeling really lazy, I have it delivered.

I love shopping every Tuesday after gym. Sometimes I buy stupid stuff but it would be cheap and I would throw it away….I’m young and I’m learning

Smart move by Brutus in getting Gladys to feed him.

Full stomach or no, when I shop I always come back with treats that are not on the list.

Nobody has complained yet.

I bet he forgot the eggs, too.

I just go in my back yard for eggs.

I can’t recall the last time I purchased four bags of groceries.

When I go grocery shopping sometimes, I originally plan to get a few items. But eventually, I fill up the cart with a lot more than just a few items lol

I understand Brutus, my wife has had the same lament as Gladys.

and that’s why mom and I eat before we go to the grocery store… :}

It’s true not to shop when you’re hungry! But it doesn’t seem to work with me. Hungry or not, I still buy goodies and snacks…what the hec…..you only go around once….☺️☺️☺️

I never shop for groceries on an empty stomach. I could not afford it..monetarily and weight wise.

Another tip: Always bring water with you.

It’s mostly frozenpizzas, pizza rolls, pretzel bites etc…

Brutus will still come back with 4 bags. All snacks. Football season…

Rookie mistake. Always stop off at the donut shop BEFORE you go shopping. After a dozen Krispy Kreme glazed, you’re ready to save money!

Won’t work Gladys, If you feed him before sending him to the grocery store, he’ll fall asleep before he even gets to the car.

Brutus shouldn’t have eaten that brownie an hour before going shopping.

The golden rule of grocery shopping, never shop on an empty stomach or when you’ve been drinking alcoholic beverages.

Shop at Costco but don’t put anything into your cart until after you’ve already gone around and tried ALL the free samples.

Feed him what ? Clearly, you were out of everything.

I’m getting stronger as I age. When I was 20, I couldn’t carry $100 worth of groceries. Now I can, no problem.

This is so true. I always buy more at the Grocery store when I’m hungry. It’s even more expensive when I go to Costco but the $1.50 hot dog there is a great deal

I make my “must buy list”, but always leave room on it for extras.

And he probably forgot to get the eggs, what he was sent for to get.

Brutus was hungry for food after eating what Gladys cooked.

Probably won’t have to go shopping for a while. Also he probably got a lot pre-made foods to avoid her cooking.

He’s still hungry Glades. Start Cooking!

Actually, that is pretty good advice for Brutus and actually for most of us. I write a list and pretty much stick to it.However, some of those goodies are very tempting…..

I’m glad to see he has paper bags.

Never go to Costco on an empty stomach, walking by the smell of chicken and ribs, slow cooking. Try getting a whole roasted chicken for 5.00 anywhere, especially the fast food joints.

Gladys I think he was hoping you’d tell him he can’t be trusted with the shopping and you’re just going to do it yourself from now on.

I learned a long time ago not to shop without eating. I have been known to stop at a restaurant and eat first, if I had forgotten to eat before I left the house.

It helps to take a list. However, that never stops one from the ‘Oh, that’s on sale?!’ purchases. :)

Then it would be Eggs and Pepto.

i’m usually too stressed at the supermarket to feel hungry – i just get what’s on the list and exit as quickly as possible… ☺

I learned that lesson as a young bachelor the hard way. Go grocery shopping hungry, blow your grocery budget wide open!

Puts me in mind of How to Succeed with Women Without Really Trying The book suggested that the newlywed husband (with the young couple on a tight budget, of course) offer to do the grocery shopping. Then he comes come home with a large jar of peanut butter and two dozen red roses for his bride, purchased in a romantic flight of fancy. He’ll eat peanut butter for several weeks, but he knows she’ll never again ask him to do the shopping.

Of course Brutus has been married for a while, so the opportunity for him to pull that on Gladys passed some time ago.
