    Just like the ads for prescription medicines on TV, every one with the same tag line: Ask your doctor if this medicine is right for you. And people wonder why prescription medicines are so expensive in the US v the rest of the world

    These are supplements, not medicines. Medicines require FDA approval after rigorous testing and quality assurance. Supplements rely on anecdotal claims, don’t need testing, and aren’t even required to contain a controlled quantity of the “active ingredient”. If the the commercial says “this will cure cancer” they are in trouble with the FCC. But if an actor in a commercial says “this cured MY cancer”, that’s OK.
