Looks a lot like MY first place.

I remember my first place. Only a radio… slept in a sleeping bag. A microwave oven, and stove fridge combo. 350 dollars a month. Loved it.

My first place was a lot more furnished than that. I had a separate small bedroom with bed and closet and a small living room with 3 rattan chairs (I still have one of them, the largest), a small tv and a table. And a balcony. It was an apartment I shared with two other ladies, who both had their own room.

A place that large would go for at least $1500 a month now.

For me it was coffee and cinnamon toast. But that was the best coffee and toast ever.

So many flash backs to so many moves.

When my wife and I moved in together it took 3 days before the waterbed cooled off enough to actually sleep in it and we bought enough Chinese food to last for a week. Ah, the joys of being young and stupid. :o)

“Parsifal, what was your first place like, when you left home?” Hackenschmidt searched his memory in order to answer his friend’s question. “It was in a hollow in a hillside overlooking Paterson, New Jersey. One that I had scraped out with my bare hands, in order to to evade the Secret Squadron of the Securities and Exchange Commission, after I had fled their raid of my family, childhood home. My first meal? Canada goose. I don’t recommend it, by the way. Too much dark meat.”

Yeah, she’s livin’ la Rita loca.

Back when I was single a whole bucket of KFC would have been a multi-day feast for me. If I could have afforded it….

Smells like…FREEDOM!!

My first dinner like that was an overcooked soup with too much salt and pepper. It was pretty indigestible, but I was happy to eat it.
