I have long thought that football needs to get rid of the two minute warning. It goes back to the days before electronic scoreboards. Now both teams know EXACTLY how much playing time is left. Both teams just use the two minute warning as a free time out. Without the two minute warning there would have to be more strategy as to how to use time outs.

That would no longer have much of an impact here.

Chances are pretty good that somebody near the game is going to do it anyway.

Go to Chicago! Here they don’t wait or even need a game to fire a pistol!

I just read up on it. They use to fire a a pistol at the end of each quarter. The practice ended in 1994.

He should attend the home games of my beloved Virginia Tech Hokies. Skipper the Cannon always gets fired at game’s end.
