Got lazy, replaced everything on CD then burned them to FLAC although there is some loss of fidelity. I download playlists to my phone to listen in the car and play CDs at home.
I have well over 1,000 CDs in my collection, accumulated over the past forty years. I look at about half of them and say to myself, “What the he!! was I thinking when I bought that?!”
Recently went to Comcast for advice on connecting an older Blu-ray player to streaming, and received a funny look from the young man at the counter: “I haven’t used a Blu-ray player for years.” I found it amusing an old lady knows more about AV equipment than a twenty-something male. Oh, and plenty of movies are not available through streaming. Happy trails!
How old are Betty and her husband supposed to be? I mean, Junior looks to be… eight to ten, maybe- so I’m guessing they might be in their early to mid 40s at most? I’m wondering why someone born in the late 70s to early 80s would have such a collection of vinyl (as cassettes and CDs would have been far more familiar to someone in that age bracket), and- moreso- who turned him on to the (ahem) “psychedelic” stuff?Yeah, I know… it’s a cartoon.

Show him the speakers…in case he can’t hear them.

The covers sometimes show the musicians as they were back then. Spotify shows you how they look now, which scares the living daylights out of me! :D

Yesterday at a yard sale I bought a book called 1000 Album Covers. I’m looking forward to browsing slowly through it.

Test drove a car the last year. No cd player, not even a usb port. They want to railroad you into subscribing for music.

I have about 1500 albums and probably 500 CD’s. I love going down to the man cave and turning up the volume.

I prefer albums, I always find the sound fuller if that makes any sense.

Memories of sitting in a bean bag chair, listening sometimes with headphones, and reading liner notes!

About those psychedelic covers, some of that music made you feel like you were tripping, even when you were only drinking beer.

The kid has no idea how lucky he is that his dad doesn’t just scream at him to get out and leave him alone… Among other things

Memories, adult sized artwork and a fidelity unheard of on streaming services or CDs

Vinyl records are on the comeback trail even for record album/45 collectors?
