They did, but you didn’t. You’re officially on KP until further notice.

    This cartoon is an overkill.

Part of teaching someone to cook is teaching them to clean. They have to learn start to finish. And you can’t just tell you have to guide. I only taught my children one on one. As my parents had taught us. We were taught the cleaning part first. I have great memories of spending times just being with each of my parents one on one. It was never planned really, that I was aware of. I’d just go see what a parent was doing and we learned to cook. I never really planned it with my children either. The kitchen was just a place we aren’t together. The cleaning and cooking were a natural flow from the fellowship.

More than baking, the older brother was entertaining the younger one. See the smile on little Michael’s face? Sure, it’s a big, BIG mess, but later, eating the properly made muffins, the boys can proudly say, “We helped Mommy make these!”

I remember a long ago “Beetle Bailey” comic where he learned what KP really meant. Suddenly getting KP didn’t seem so bad.

Dad should be in for a few nights sleeping on the couch, especially if he doesn’t clean up that mess. imho.

If you want to survive the next five minutes you’d better offer to clean up.
