So long as you remain gainfully employed, she’ll put up with you another month

I saw a poll taken of women in relationships and what they thought of their significant other’s hobbies. On a scale of 1 (hated) to 5 (loved/supported), the results ranged from 90% of women hated men who had the hobby of video games, and 40% hated that their partner hiked/spent time out outdoors. No activity received above 5% (loved/supported).

Most amazing to me is that 62% of women hated that their husband/boyfriend had any hobby at all.

Month-to-month seems a more rational incremental view of a relationship in today’s world.

As women become more self-reliant they need male partners less and less. In 1980, 6% of women over 40 had never been married. By 2021 that rose to 25%.

Both marriage and childbirth for women occur later in life now than in the past.

Having a child is a major contributor to a woman wanting to be married. Still, 87% of women prefer to be married before giving birth to a child. Only 60% are.

I don’t think any of that has anything to do with hobbies.

Getting a driver’s license requires that you read, study the rules and laws and then take a written test and a driver’s ability test…a marriage license requires Nothing – not even an eye exam, which I think some couples should be forced to take!
