When visiting a friend one time, and knowing we were the only ones in the house, I was startled to hear the toilet flush. My host said, “Don’t worry, it’s the dog. We taught him to flush before drinking.”
My dog has zero interest in that behavior, but I don’t give her the option, either. That water isn’t clean and safe for humans, so I wouldn’t allow a pet to have it, either.

I had a cat who got up on the toilet seat and drank out of the toilet. Luckily, the toilet seat was plastic and she never fell in.
