When driving up to the Grand Canyon we saw a field of yellow flowers up ahead, a veritable carpet of yellow stretching for miles. But when I stopped the car to take a picture they were just small blooms about a foot apart.
Many years ago in a remote area of Northern Coastal California, I took a photograph of a cow sitting alongside the road with a calf looking on from a short distance.
