We have walked around at Broadway, but never saw a show there. However, I was fortunate enough to see Evita and 42 street in London in 1986 and I saw Les Miserables in London at some point in the late nineties or early noughts. Saw Cats in my own country, that was a great show!
I finally did knock an item off my bucket list and saw a show on Broadway a couple of years back. Although we had a good time, it was on a day that saw record high temperatures which had us hunting for shaded sidewalks the entire time we were walking around town.
Was fortunate enough to be sent to NYC for a job assignment for 3 months and had my wife join me. We found discount tickets for shows and went to a few of them during the weeks. Awesome time with good memories…
I guess they have to keep an eye in that creepy neighbor who is missing more than a few lights on his Christmas tree, but they seem to be enjoying it, so it must be it is catching.
When I lived in NY, I’d go to a Broadway show every few years. The last ten years or so, when I lived near DC, I’d take the train or bus up to Manhattan for a few days and see a show or two or a taping of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, which is filmed right off Broadway. I hope I got my fill ~ I live two time zones away now.
Broadway is worth the trip. Go in early December and see the nearby lights on all the shops and at least a half-dozen robust holiday markets. I include you, Jimbo and Rose.
When I was 7 years old Lucille Ball was in a show, “Wildcat”, on Broadway. My parents decided to take my maternal grandparents to see it (anniversary or such) and they included me. ( I can still sing several of the songs – very badly which is how I sing – from memory – “We love you, love you, love you el sombrero…”)
A year or so later my mom’s “Family Circle” – her extended and close relatives – went to see “My Fair Lady” as a group and since I had behaved well at “Wildcat” I got to go also.
When in college and after husband and I (starting back when he was my boyfriend) would go into Manhattan a day during the week when he was off from work for whatever reason. They had set up the “TCKTs” booth by this time and we would buy half price tickets for the same day. Some years we saw almost all of the shows. Understand that tickets were MUCH CHEAPER back then – sometimes original price was US$3 for the mezzanine so half price was US$1.50 – maybe up to US$7 ($3.50) for orchestra.
We had bedbugs some years ago – do not know the source, but I was going to Manhattan monthly for work and good chance from same. We have not gone back to see any shows since – and they are MUCH too expensive these days, even at 50% for us to see them now.

When two sock puppets really care for each other, it’s not just sox, they make glove.

Who else wants to see a puppet show, minus the puppets?
Let’s see a show of hands..

The business man opened a shadow puppet theater that should make a fortune!
But that’s just projected figures.

Be glad for what you’ve got. Not everyone gets a backyard puppet show.

Nor quite the same however…..

It’s sweet that Jimbo would like to take Rose to a show, given that he’s a little shy of social situations.
