We’ve been following a fun Pert story… are we about to meet proto-Pert from over 40 years before?
I bet Hipshot knows some fancy steps on the dance floor as well, he just never goes to barn dances. And this is some 4½ years before America was introduced to “The Fonz”.
I thought Lazy was a pain in the … , but Lance’s Aunt Stella may have just zoomed into the lead. What kind of person waits until the child just gets engaged to break the news that they were adopted? I suspect there’s more of a connection here than the college dean realizes.
(Actual) Pert seems to be thoroughly enjoying himself, even while picking up the tab for an expensive dinner party. Who’da thunk it? But some old habits are hard to get over.
That bird is big enough that it’s probably a wild turkey, rather than just a regular turkey. I had a run in with a wild turkey a few years ago. They are vicious birds, capable of breaking human bones. I kid you not. Thankfully I managed to get out of the way in time to avoid learning that first hand.
