This year I have received 28 calendars from 22 different organizations—some send different sizes. Most of them are quite nice — beautiful pictures of animals, birds, scenery, etc. I used to give them to the local elementary school because the teachers could use them to help kids learn the calendar and because the pictures could be used in art projects or as teaching aids. But then I was told they could no longer accept them because they were political. It’s really, really sad when a calendar with pictures of US parks, sea life, jungle animals, or birds is considered a political statement.
I tried putting them in my phone’s calendar, but whenever I called to make another appointment I would somehow disconnect them while searching for an available date.
I can relate. Got my Farmer’s Almanac Gardening calendar a couple months ago but won’t fill in the dates (mostly birthdays and anniversaries) until December when I unwrap and get ready to put it on the wall. The doc appts. will come after, though, no doubt.
We used to get a month calendar from Colonial Williamsburg and one from the Smithsonian, plus one from the township. For some reason last year (guess it too expensive to send to donors) we only got the one from the township. I was about to toss it out when I realized it was the only one – before that normally the CW calendar would be up in our home office. (One year husband had a photo he took while down there in same.)
But this is just the calendar on the wall for quick looking at. I primarily use my Lotus Organizer calendar. My poor husband has the chore when I need to upgrade my computer to get same to work in the computer as it does not work with systems after Win XP. So I have a virtual Win XP machine in my desktop (running Win 7 otherwise) and in this laptop (running Win 10 otherwise). I had been synching my Palm Centro with it to have all the info available when computer is off, but the Palm has finally come up with a problem we have not found a fix for – one column of buttons on it does not work – husband will keep trying.
I also have my Moto phone – which I HATE!! What I have been doing since the Centro developed it’s problem is to have a note in the Moto notepad app to enter what I do, need to do, appointments, etc and then copy the entries by hand into the LO, then over write the Centro to get the info into same. I really love the Centro – so much better designed apps than any of my other phones!

I had an appointment set this week for January 2026. Fortunately I have a five year calendar.

No need to purchase a calendar. Just donate a dollar to a nonprofit, and your mailbox will soon be filled with free calendars.

Yeah, I’ve already got three written on the bottom of the December page to tranfer to a 2025 calendar.

I have bought some 2025 calendars — not for me, I give them to my siblings in place of Christmas cards.

Giant and CVS didn’t have the pocket calendar I wanted, so I ordered it from Amazon.

We use calendars on our computers. We don’t write on the wall calendars.
