True story going back fifteen years or so. Local man has accident and can’t get any wood in for the winter. He decided to order as many magazines as he possibly could. The post office was delivering magazines by the tub-load for weeks. He learned how to burn them in his wood stove and made it through the winter. Pure genius?
Those sure add a lot of weight to a mail carrier’s bag not to mention Christmas cards etcetera. I sent out 20 cards for Thanksgiving, repeat for Christmas. I need more stamps.
Once upon a time that would have been T.P. For a year for the outhouse. Here it is a child’s leaf pile. Today we get mostly digital ads and spam. I used to like spam when it came in a can. Things change.
We have several large empty buildings where they printed, collated, and bound the Sears and Wards catalogs. They were so involved with the catalog that they never organized the digital images and put them into an online ordering system.

Every one of those catalogs come with the disclamer “This could be your last catalog if you don’t act now.” … We should be so lucky!
