Why did the superhero refuse to play cards?

They didn’t want to deal with any “Joker” situations!

My son spends all of his money on comic books.

I keep telling him he has issues.

My friend showed me his huge comic book collection…

    It was quite a Marvel.

I can empathize with Pasquale’s wonderment with his teacher. I remember seeing my 6th grade teacher out of the classroom one evening. He was a favorite teacher that everyone wanted to have when they were in the sixth grade. I cannot tell you what a shock it was seeing him smoke a pipe!

very important to keep up with the trends so you can relate to your students. She will have their total attention in teaching how Ranger Rory figures out how much X he needs for Y travel to save the day. Make maths meaningful and people will learn – maths in abstract is hard.

It does help to be young at heart, but a teacher has to always live up to being the adult in the room.

Never heard if Ranger Rory but I read Superman, Supergirl, Batman, all the classics, used them with students who struggled to read, taught teachers, some of whom learned to read through comics, and now I teach comics, manga and graphic novels to retirees. I worked in with student teachers in classrooms recently and every other kid had a graphic novel on his or her desk! They have changed so much over time, and many are dark and violent and need to be kept hidden from elementary students, but others are fantastic and beautifully illustrated stories. Teachers and librarians need to be vigilant, but I do not support banning books, just curating who gets them at appropriate ages. Banning gets to be outrageous. Wizard of Oz? Harry Potter? Really? The teens will just find them online anyway.

the best teachers BUY them …..it’s a comic book store, not a library, Their errant browsing is simply mussing up the pristine copies I come in to buy.

Some teachers like to keep up with what the kids really read and watch on TV. And even work it into the lesson plan.
