I have a box of donuts sitting in my car just for such an occasion. When the officer walks up and asks “Do you know why I stopped you?” I hold up the box and reply, “Because you could smell em?”

the #20 bus always parked on VaBch blvd at pembroke, at the Krispy Kreme bakery around 5 a.m., we grabbed several dozen for the early commute passengers, at our expense. a VBPD cop stroked me a ticket for “obstructing traffic” (there were zero cars on the 8-lane at that hour). the Pilot editorials raged for nearly a week about it—especially after a witness noted the cop picked up a coffee and a dozen for himself while his cherries & berries were going. the court contacted HRT told them the citation was being dismissed. only in america.
