My wife was a holiday traditionalist, stating “No holiday before its time!” Since society seems to jump directly from Halloween to Christmas we always referred to Thanksgiving as “Forgotten Holiday”. My pet name for my wife was Scamp, so we really celebrated Scampidays instead of holidays. Every Scampiday had its own name. On January 1st everyone wishes each other “Happy Scamp Year”. The next month was officially Scampruary because it has two Scampidays, St. Scampentine’s Day and Scamp Day (her birthday). In March we have St. Scamptrick’s Day. Scampster is usually in April, the second Sunday in May is Scamper’s Day. May also has Scamporial Day. July 4th was our anniversary, so it was Scamp of July and Scampiversary. The first Monday of September is Scampor Day. October features both Scampombus Day and Scampoween. November has both Scamperan’s Day on the 11th and Scampsgiving (Forgotten Holiday) on the 4th Thursday. The year ends with Scampukkah and Scampmas.
