Disappear to the naked eye here from Earth? Or would that include our best space telescope. Might be interesting to see a side view of the rings, with our best technology.

The classic comics update for the 13th:
Skeezix sends off for 22 more unusual postmarks, while the narrator considers how tiresome this ongoing series of town name lists is, in a world largely without an outlet for masses of people to share information/trivia like this. We’re still 51 weeks from the premiere of the Jack Benny radio program.
For no one having invented a powered flying machine yet, Pat Pending has come up with something which looks a lot more like a WWII fighter plane, than the belly-riding bi-wing that Wilbur and Orville Wright set out to prove over the sands of Kitty Hawk, NC in 1903. (Ballooning was achieved in 1783, while glider flight started in 1891.)
Lance Hunter finally makes it to his date with Brenda before she gets tired of the breadsticks at the Willow Inn, but rather than getting all cozy in a dark corner of the restaurant, he needs to explain what happened, and how it involved Gracie. Our Starr was the one who went to bat for the ex-con when Ms. McKoo arrived at Bedlam.
And now that Melba and Rufus are releasing Pert back into the wilds of Gasoline Alley, here come Hugo’s Older Brother Wilmer – with his wife Jessica… showing concern for the poor rich guy, and wondering if he might not be more comfortable in some nursing warehouse.. I mean, nursing home. (Uriah Pert would not move into the Comic Strip Retirement Home for another 31 years.)
I feel like “Look at Saturn’s rings while you can, kids!” is pretty ominous statement, like it clearly implies that this is the last they’ll see of them, and the final panel really doesn’t fully walk it back. What does Arty the AI know about certain Events that will happen in the next twelve months that will result in these children, and possibly the rest of our species, never seeing Saturn’s rings again? Guess we’ll find out, haha!
