I am so disappointed in the new artist. The last few strips from the previous artist (when he showed his ability to create more realistic images) were the perfect fit for a cartoon strip of this nature. The current style just does not fit. Of course I’ve been reading Gil Thorp since 1964 so what do I know.
At least all the snarkers here agree, unlike crankshaft where there are three or four dorks that do absolutely nothing but complain about the snark more than comment on the strip. Their complaints sure don’t stop anyone either.
Maybe the art quality fading means that the people who think at least some of this has all been a dream (Count Thorp: Dream within a dream) are going to be right?
Did indeed the draft sketches get submitted this week instead of the finished product? Those are some extra-long arms in P2 and I’m not sure what’s going on with #7’s right shoulder in P3.
So your reading a comic strip that can pass as a trainwreck. Well this is the time for a ice cold can of Train Wreck Beer. Train Wreck Beer is the beer that goes well with trainwrecks. Much like this piece of sh!t ……..uh I mean I mean this comic strip. So when you reading a train wreck. Much like this piece of sh!t ……..uh I mean I mean this comic strip. Enjoy yourself a Trainwreck Beer or 2 or 22.
I think the truth of the matter is that Henry and his 8-year-old niece Rachel don’t give a rat’s a$$ about this strip and are just in it for the snarky comments. oh, and the paycheck is a bonus…The only reason I can think of that anyone would continue to read this strip is to see how much worse it can actually get, and to be entertained by the comment section.

The fumble recovery looks like an 80 year old man trying to pick up the ball.

Once more, whoever scored is a player to be named later, if at all.

Someone tell Rachel she’s supposed to turn in the finished artwork, not the layout sketches.

There is no way to get from P2, ball at your feet, to P3, having to dive for it.

No wonder there was a fumble. Anything shaped like that football has to be hard to hold onto.
(Seriously, I’ve seen kindergarten art work more realistic than this.)

These characters look like Rock ’em Sock ’em Robots.

The Valley Tech player in panel 2 must be Plastic Man, look how long his arms are!
James St. John Smythe about 1 month ago
Let’s see the replay on P3. Did the Valley Tech player have possession of the ball before dropping it in the endzone?

Different to announce the the score with the losing team first. They don’t do it like that where I come from. Or anywhere else actually.

P-1: The VT defense is taking extra time holding To be under the shoulder pads.
P-2: Here little ball, ball. Here little ball, ball.
P-3: Touchdown? Yes, but how long will it take him to touch down?

Seems unfair, that the defense could tickle ToBe until he fumbled. And speaking of fumbling, don’t fumble away your chance to read Mopped Up Thorp.
