Real pluggers put metal nails on wood in their home, and don’t do their own nails.

Except his toenails; Andy Bear can’t trim what he can’t see.

At least most Pluggers are no limber enough to do their own toenails.

My pal cuts his fingernails with his pocketknife. He just turned 81, and he grew up on a farm.

More like you’re a plugger if you don’t use clippers to trim your finger nails. I use my teeth ocassionally or a pocket knife .

Do pluggers make their own floss?

Do you suppose that this was what Al had in mind when he submitted it?

Can’t do that any more—my teeth (the ones I have left) can’t get through the nails so it is ‘clipper time’ ! ! ! !

My teeth (what I have) won’t go through them so it is ‘clipper village’ ! ! !

This reminded me of something from a few decades ago. I was on a first date with someone. He looked at my hands and said: “Wow — You don’t bite your nails!” It caused me to wonder about the other women he had been dating.

Small wire cutters are great for toe nails. And fingernails when you shred one in the shop. And a brick wall to smooth them out.

I use toenail clippers for all my nails. They cut so cleanly that I rarely need to file afterwards. As for toenails, I have to be desperate to even try.

I used to often trim my fingernails by tearing them off with my other nails, one or more one day, then maybe a couple more a few days later… now I let them grow out and take a pair of clippers to them. I’ve been saving the clippings, partly just to see how they add up and partly with the idea of doing some sort of experiment someday. Anyway, I’ve never heard of a man (a real manly man) who didn’t do his own nails one way or another.

The scissors and nail file on a Swiss Army Knife are always handy for dealing with ragged fingernails. There are nail clippers that look just like side-cutter tools for electrical work.

I had cat that would bite his nails. If you were touching his head while he was doing it, you could feel the powerful crunch. It was pretty cool having a cat who would trim his own nails.
