I NEVER got a summer reading list. We were encouraged to enter the county library summer reading contest (I usually did), but other than that, they didn’t assign homework over our 2.5-month summer break. Or winter, spring, or fall breaks, even though those breaks are shorter at sixteen days (yes I’m counting the Saturdays and Sundays), nine days, and four days, respectively. Sometimes we’d get homework on the weekend, but never over break, and they can’t start now, because they’ve been not asigning break ho,ework for so long, that if they started now, there would be backlash. Because, I’m sorry, but they’re called “breaks” for a reason.
