Interesting since Trump didn’t do that. Another innuendo by the liberal left. What the supreme court did is to recognize that abortion needs to be decided at the state level.
I suspect that it is futile to suggest that any comments about whether the constitution protects a right to privacy, or Project 2025, or Vance’s views on the subject, etc. will not change any minds. Still, I hope we can let voting be the proper political response and try to use this forum to provide some badly needed humor .
But when the cornered rat fights it lies and kicks and bites and cheats and scratches and farts and climbs into the wrong end of the garbage truck and lies some more and…
Dear Gawd, please make the orange albatross go away. But You will have to drag the ugly bird. It would take a miracle to fly with three right wings and no left.
This painting reminds me of days when true craftsmanship was valued and we could go anywhere to get something repaired. Electronic devices took over clock repair, but who can fix those? You are supposed to throw them away in two years and buy a new one. So sad.

Mr. Melcher has removed the blog entry related to this strip. It’s his intention to replace the strip with what’s at the current MASTERPIECE #3404 (November 5, 2024) blog entry, provided GC cooperates. With this, 8 works by this artist have been used here, the October 18, 2023, strip being the prior. My comment there says how to access the info I found about him. With luck, I’ll never see the name Trump ever again.
I see Steve Melcher decided that things were getting a little too heated here in the comment section, and decided to distract us with salacious 250 year old gossip.

Again, a larger strip image is shown by (Ctrl- or right-) clicking the image in Mr. Melcher’s MASTERPIECE #3405 (November 5, 2024) blog entry, accessible by the Check out the blog! box after the last comment, and using the dropdown menu (even larger, if you trim what’s after .png from the URL). I have added a comment there pointing to the blog entry with my comment and reply pointing to info about this artist I used to point to here. So far, 7 works associated with him have been used here, the August 19, 2022, strip being the prior. This is actually an unknown artist’s rendition of the Self-Portrait by the named artist, held by the Baltimore Museum of Art (shown by finding 1770 in that Category:; has several obvious differences).

Can The Watchmaker even succeed?
He must teach Fritz the knack
how to set his clock back.
Hans explained it twice; Fritz doesn’t heed.

/// It appears that Steve’s caption today
has rubbed some who like Trump the wrong way.
It’s a fairly mild joke, but will no doubt provoke
long discussions. Veiled threats? Not OK.

Killing something that is wholly dependent on you, just because you find it convenient, makes you a monster.
No matter how much you try to justify it, you are a horrible monster, and should be dehumanized.
You know, for convenience.

“Reproductive Rights?” You mean the right to say no to getting pregnant in the first place? Abortion is not a reproductive right.

Comments on today’s replacement image:
/// This oil’s title is ”Benjamin West.”
A self-portrait by him, I’d have guessed.
That may not be correct.
There are those who suspect
it was done in his style (they attest).
// With the first finger of his right hand,
Mr. West probes his swollen neck gland.
His lymph nodes are sore
and the collar he wore
Is constricting much more than he’d planned.
