Rip knows the true value of the sheriff’s advice.

As you go through life, you will find many people who enjoy the sound of good advice. However, few will follow it. Most of our decisions are made at an emotional level with “logic” applied as a justifying afterthought. (How else to explain the election?)

Notice how people who use the preface, “If you want my advice …” never wait for your answer.
