Well there is one BIG causal factor I can think of.

Dean is listening to his playlist, Who plays first, What plays second, I Don’t Know plays third.

This may be a bad time to mention the “Guess Who”.

They have to make that joke at some point.

Just an observation – that is a very old routine, obviously based on the Abbott and Costello routine, and only works because the Who changed their name from the original group name – “the Detour” (they also used the name “the High Numbers” for a few months in 1964). Sorry – was feeling very pedantic this morning.

For a few laughs and some nostalgia, you could check youtube for Johnny Carson posing as Ronald Reagan and doing a version of the A & C routine using political figures’ names.

Harry Shearer and David L Lander, as part of The Credibility Gap comedy group, first did this with a rock concert lineup (The Who, Guess Who, and Yes), obliquely crediting Abbott and Costello at the end:
