If Sunday dinner was roast, then Monday is roast beef hash. If corned beef…you get the picture.

Sunday roast, Monday warm ups. Tuesday cold cuts, Wednesday stew, Thursday curry, Friday fish, Saturday dinner out – I remember the 1950’s

I became a full time caregiver at home. I don’t mind the cooking along with everything else. My main bugaboo is deciding what to fix. I want to provide some variety and something good. The decision is the hard part. Once I/we decide, the fixing is the easy part.

Mom always served fish on Fridays, despite the fact we were Protestant. The local fish market always reduced their prices for their Jewish customers, and Mom took advantage.

Bad question. He could rattle off 20 meals he’s in the mood for, but it won’t do him much good if they don’t have the necessary ingredients in the house.

A sensible answer would be, “What have we got?” As in, “What did you buy for dinners when doing grocery shopping for the week?”

But in my house, I already know what’s on the menu, because my wife and I talk about what dinners we’d like to eat in the coming week, and do the grocery shopping together. Also, I do most of the cooking.
