Just tell him that chocolate is toxic to cats and they don’t even have sweet taste receptors anyway.

From the expression on Mom’s face in panel #2, I don’t believe she thinks of Hobbes as anything but a stuffed toy. Care for a rebuttal, Calvinist1966??

Tigers love pudding and jello. When they wiggle, they look like prey.

Hobbes speech is Cal’s attempt to devise an alternate excuse for more chocolate pudding. Good move, but Mom won’t go for that either.

The Count thinks a big ol’ bowl of chocolate pudding :9 would be great for Calvin and Hobbs to eat while watching the Army-Navy game with President Donald J Trump, The Cincinnati Kid, J.D. Vance, Hero Daniel Penny and future Defense Secretary, Fox New’s own Pete Hegseth. God Bless America!

She is a good mom to pretend Hobbes is real. All she ever sees is a stuffed tiger.

Mom told me that, when I was in Nursery School, she got a call from the teacher, who was concerned about me. She wanted Mom to know why I might have a tummy ache. It seems that us kids had chocolate pudding for our snack time, and I had conned a couple of other kids into giving me their’s too.

Hobbes should have said, “I’m going to eat one thing in this room. Your choice. You have one more chance.”

Not sure what is so hard toUnderstand about the "reality " of Hobbes. The truth is that this is an enormously popular comic series based on how a young boy who has an amazing imagination goes through life and how those who know him try to deal with him.It is quite plain that Calvin sees Hobbes at all times as a real tiger and when the two are alone we, the audience see him through Calvin’s mind as real, but only when the two are alone. Whenever Calvin and Hobbes are together while in the presence of someone else, either parents or anyone else, then the spell is broken and we the audience see Hobbes as the other characters see him. And when Hobbes is alone, such as when he was accidentally left at home when the family went to a wedding and we saw his doll tail sticking out from under the bedsheets in Calvin’s room, he is a doll.
