Salespeople should get combat pay for Black Friday. One holiday season I worked for a major retailer. Was funny on Dec 26 when we opened the doors. I was on break and watched people come in. You could see this one woman speedwalking and trying so hard not to run to get 50% off Christmas stuff

Same reason I bake gifts for my family. Messy, time-consuming, etc. Sure, buying those goodies are cheaper and faster, but I LOVE making them! And the family LOVES eating them!!

I’ve hit Walmart at midnight a couple of times in the past. It was indeed an adventure, one that I will pass on in the future if they continue to do it.

Gladys’ start practice for Black Friday shopping by workouts on elbowing, stepping on toes, shoving, coughing and sneezing, spitting or loud talking about what your Doctor said about your positive Covid-19 test results yesterday or just take your Mother Gargle along.

We did the Black Friday thing one time, and only one. We had only been married for two years and we went to Cinderella City in Denver. My wife, the rural farm girl, came out crying, and it took us 20 minutes to find our car.NOT WORTH IT.

For once Brutus makes perfect sense. Black Friday shoppers would rather be out in the cold all night long waiting for a deal than stay at home in the warm confines of their bed

With contact sports, while we all like to watch, it’s so much more fun to play. “Take no prisoners” is the battle cry of the day for shoppers everywhere. Victory or Death, Victory or Death…….

You have an odd idea of fun, Gladys. I, personally, intend to avoid all stores (except for groceries) until well in the New Year.

For me physically going to the store is part of the love that goes into the gift. But I avoid Black Friday as much as I can. This year the store was in Ireland in September, plus a church bazaar in November

That must be something hard-wired into some women. Before internet shopping became big my wife used to do that. They prepped like it was D-Day.

Off we go into the bargain section. Running wild throughout the store. There is a clerk coming in our direction hurry shoppers’ stump on his face. There’s an item we can all fight over. Come on shoppers don’t delay. We will pull and pull till it all falls apart. Nothing can stop the shoppers today.

Compliments to Mad Magazine. Sing to the tune of the Air Force hymn.

I remember many years ago venturing out to Best Buy (I think) for a Black Friday event that started at midnight. When I got there, the line circled the entire VERY LARGE parking lot. At that point, I turned around and went back home. Never again.

I sit at night, irish coffee and my computer at hand. I get the great deals and don’t have to deal with the hordes of crowds. Almost done, time for another warm up and double check my list.

on our last shopping pilgrimage of the year last week we were stunned at the traffic around the home and garden center we visit, as well as the unusual number of cars in the parking lots. then we remembered that it was the final sale day at the new discount supermarket across the street, which our local news channels had eagerly provided all sorts of free publicity. we quickly gave up trying to find a parking spot and moved on to the next stop on our itinerary… ☺
