NATIONAL RED MITTEN DAY. On November 21st, National Red Mitten Day represents Canadian Olympic Pride! This cozy holiday is a Canadian holiday. But, since mittens are a must in the winter, why not choose red mittens?
NATIONAL RURAL HEALTH DAY…..That is something sorely missed here in northernmost Maine. I was talking with my doctor yesterday about this very subject. A friend of mine has Parkinson’s and has basically slipped through the cracks. He’s not getting any care. He’s depressed because of the disease and his wife doesn’t believe in doctors so not much is being done to help him. There is one doctor that is 60 miles away and he is be overwhelmed with patients. I’m going to try to get my friend an appointment with a doctor in Bangor. We’ll see how that works out.
One way to keep Chez quiet for the day. Heading to Reno with my friend’s husband today – he has an MRI scheduled, she likes a day to herself, I’m just going along for my favorite drive and hoping we can get in to a very busy excellent family run Italian restaurant. Weather forecast is all over the place, we may or may not get rain, snow, wind or sun.
It took us 20 minutes to get bundled up to play outside as children, and an hour to unbundle because of the frozen melted snow in the clothes, and the wet clothes, and the snow stuck to the outer layer.
When I had partial season tickets to the Mets which included Opening Day I was usually layered in the much clothing. It made me feel like a kid as I couldn’t bend my arms or legs. What was sort of amusing was the guys (probably drunk) that were running around half naked.
Oops! If Oliver’s over there, who under all those layers? (Possibly no one.) No big deal, worse mistakes have been made. On another note, saw seven varied thrushes, ten geese, and a sparrow while out walking today.

Annie was trying to turn Oliver into a fuzzy gumdrop with eyes; this is what I used to call my daughter when I bundled her up in cold weather.

Okay, I’m officially losing it. I posted a witty, charming ( lol ) reply last nite and didn’t hit send. And now I don’t remember what it was.
