Thank heavens the original version of Mickey Mouse is now in the public domain, so cartoonists can use it while pretending to draw their own regular characters without those pesky royalty fees (or fending off the legion of Disney lawyers).
So, to the people who pay for this site, have they announced when they’re restoring comments in the political comics? I’m pretty sure they said either the 16, 18, or 22 when they yanked them, and they’re still not back. Or are they just cowards and never restoring them?

Satire and parody were deemed fair use so long ago that even the current dishonest Subprime Court would never overrule it.

If the monster’s not Frankenstein, the why was Mary Shelley’s working title “The Man-Made Monster I Call Frankenstein”?

It’s true. His name is Smokey Bear. But he is a bear. So you could also call him Smokey, the bear, or Smokey Bear, the bear.

Smokey THE Bear — as his birth certificate reads — would like a word.
