The windstorm last night blew over a large potted plant on my front porch, but my 2 big shade trees are still hanging on to most of their leaves. The massive fruitless mulberry has large leaves that compost fairly easily, but the sycamore leaves just clump together and their pointy shape makes them stick to everything. And yes, I knew this when I planted it as a sapling with Craig about 7 years ago, it’s now over 20 feet tall. The other tree has been here for many decades.
I heard many years ago that the reason Harbo did not speak was he a had a fight with someone and in anger said I hope your house burns down and it did and he said he would never speak again and he didn’t!
Perhaps Annie should take a clue from O’Henry’s “The Last Leaf” and glue the leaf on since painting isn’t an option. A great story. You can find it online for free.
Don’t worry, Oliver, the leaf will be all right. Still, it was nice of you to be so thoughtful and considerate. On another note, saw three chickadees and five varied thrushes while out walking today.

Put a pillow under it. If it falls during the night, Ollie, it won’t get hurt.
