I once went to Soldier Field for a Bears-Rams game in the 80s.——the temp was in the ’teens—-

longest , ugliest and certainly the coldest experience o’ve ever had—and I was in my 20’s.

I’ll never understand folks attending games in open stadiums in those kind of temps

Sure glad I don’t attend games in the winter.

Heh. The 1980 NFL playoffs had San Diego go to Buffalo for the first round. Bryant Gumble called the game for NBC, one of the last games he called before moving to the Today Show. He was on the San Diego sideline, wearing the biggest, thickest coat ever seen on TV, a huge woolen cap, and a giant scarf, and he still looked as though he was freezing. ‘Frozen tundra’ doesn’t begin to describe game conditions. It’s a miracle that SD won.

Football in the elements. Awesome!

Tough guys in the stand are usually also the tough guys on the reader boards. Well, maybe not all that tough…

Go out in the parking lot and jump on some folding tables. That’ll warm you up.
