Not necessarily. A 2015 study found that well-educated people with plenty of words at their disposal were better at coming up with curse words than those who were less verbally fluent.“Having the strategies to know where and when it’s appropriate to swear, and when it’s not,” Jay said, “is a social cognitive skill like picking the right clothes for the right occasion. That’s a pretty sophisticated social tool.”

Usually the latter, I know some people who curse on a general basis but make for some excellent points in their argument. But a loose temper AND cursing? Doesn’t really help your case much…

Some use more swearing than punctuation.

I decided to stop using swear words about 15 years ago after I heard my kids doing it.

So many people argue in bad faith so there is nothing left to say to them except “you don’t know !&$?! about #&%&$!”

Overheard part of a conversation while walking past a man sitting at the table. 6 curses in 5 seconds. 9 words total.
