My family vacation planning starts with hitting my thumb with a hammer and getting on with it.

Happened to me all the time until I learned holding the nail with the pinch pliers trick.

A drunk, vicious hammer, ready to attack. Sounds just like MY hammer. I pick it up with my right hand and my left hand goes into panic mode.

Hold the hammer with both hands and let someone else hold the nail! ;-)
