I gave up on making New Year’s resolutions many years ago. I never managed to keep them long anyway.

Today is:

NEW YEAR’S EVE. Happy New Year Everybody!!!

NATIONAL CHAMPAGNE DAY. None for me, thanks.

NO INTERRUPTIONS DAY. No Interruptions Day on the last workday of the year sets aside the day to get organized for the new year by cleaning up your workspace without interruptions.

MAKE UP YOUR MIND DAY. Make Up Your Mind Day encourages us to quit wavering, to take a side, and follow through with a decision and stick to it.

LEAP SECOND TIME ADJUSTMENT DAY. Leap Second Time Adjustment Day is listed as an observance title only. Some years scientists do not make adjustments. But, if they do, then it’s done on either June 30 or December 31.

Wow – looking back at yesterday’s strip, I see that I neglected to post the “holidays”! I thought I did it, but it’s not there. I know I was awfully dead tired yesterday, but I didn’t think I was THAT tired! Thanks to miztrniceguy for covering for me!

I’m so glad the days are now getting longer. Only three more months of Winter weather here in northernmost Maine. I’m hearing reports of major snow later this month, but I’m ready for it. Wishing you all a Happy, Healthy, and Prosperous New Year!

Yet another situation where Chesney should have kept his mouth shut. I find New Years resolutions to be too much of a hassle. Happy New Year, everybody! On another note, saw seven chickadees and a wren while out walking today.

I read that today is a “black moon.” It’s the second new moon in a month. Kind of the opposite of a blue moon (2nd full moon in a month).
