The other day my mother was calling and calling me, sounding rather urgent. I ran out there in a hurry, and she told me, “We have an emergency. Get your shoes on.”Turned out that our neighbor’s freezer broke and we had to transfer her things to our freezer. But, sheesh, the way Mom made it sound, I thought there was some sort of medical emergency, maybe a friend of ours was in the hospital or something.
