As someone who has been an avid Eagles fan for close to five decades, all I can say is GO ROBODOG!!!! When Vick was signed, my first reaction was to hope he suffered a season ending injury. After realizing this would just give him an excuse, I now hope he is such a failure that he can’t get any playing time.

The_JAM said, Why doesn’t he do this for psychotic murderers? If you’re being abused speak up for yourself. We all have the power to stop abuse. Animals, and God help us, children don’t. It’s up to us to watch out for those who cannot speak up for themselves.

    Good job Mark.

I agree with, Dypak. Animals, especially dogs, are trusting and faithful, which makes Vick’s crimes particularly heineous. LIO traditionally defends the small and defenseless…or in this case, takes swift revenge, as is his nature. Plus, I’m really sick of football players being lionized for their violent behavior, on the field and off.

If Vick actually comprehended how wrong dog fighting is, and had expressed genuine remorse for his sick behavior, he’d be a great spokesperson against it. He was more sorry it was illegal and he got caught, than anything.

The Tank team is not afraid of roasting athletes, fans, professional sports and college athletics. They’ve thrown their share of jabs at Vick and others like him. They do an annual Sports Jerk of the Year contest which, unfortunetly. never has a shortage of likely picks.

Excellent strip, though I kinda prefer to se strips like Lio remain outside “this” world.

As to MV and the whole atrocity of his actions; if everyone who barked about this would go to the local vet/clinic/shelter and pay for two spay/neuter procedures then the root trouble of much animal suffering would be solved - that being over-population.

root of human suffering as well, but I seriously digress <<<

!!! spay the stupid & neuter the nitwits !!!

Sad. I love Lio, but I must say this strip and all the comments I’ve read are a sad indication of how unforgiving we are as human beings. A man commits a crime, is convicted, serves his time and makes restitution and pays a very high price. A higher price then some who have killed other humans, At what point do we let it go? I won’t play the race card, butI dare say, if he were not a black man much of the reactions to his returning to his career would be different. I love my dog and certainly carried a lot of anger towards Vick. Still, at this point aren’t there better targets? Look at our economy. Look at our world. It’s just a sad. I hope none of you perfect people are ever in need of forgiveness, The Lord’s Prayer says: Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.

I believe in forgiveness. I believe Vick has paid his dues, as far as society dictates. However, I can’t forget what he did and I reserve the right to mock him in my comic strip. A small price for him to pay, don’t you think? Afterall, he will be the multi-millionaire that people go on to admire for his great “worK’ on the football field, but when his anti-social behavior reveals itself once more, probably next on a person or people, don’t be surprised.

A great man once said a society can be judged by how it treats it’s weakest and the most vulnerable; children, the elderly and animals. To those defending Vick, I honestly hope the next time he reveals his disgusting depraved violent streak it’s not on someone you love. I don’t care WHAT his skin colour is, he could be black, white, green, red, freaking purple with bright orange spots! The fact remains he displayed no remorse, only anger that he was caught. Good on ya, Mark! Keep ‘em coming. animal lovers high five from Australia

I’m no fan of Vick, but recent events have put him in a new light for me. At least he served his time and paid his penalty, both of which were more than Roman Polanski got! And the same celebrity crowd that wants to keep punishing Vick want to free Polanski! After all, Vick killed and tortured DOGS; Polanski tortured and raped a CHILD! And he lived thirty years in Paris for this - hasn’t he suffered enough?

    Not that funny.

P.S. - I think it would be sad if people even understood this comic ten years from now. Who will care to remember anyways? I don’t excuse what he did, but some of you act as if he committed genocide. He has paid his debt, and it was not to any of you personally. If it does get to you that much, try to consider some forgiveness - wouldn’t you want that for yourself? He owes you nothing, and you have nothing to hold against him. Some society we’ve got. Is this really the worst, most pressing issue in the nation or the world? If all it takes is a media-hype to warp our minds to the next bend of thinking, then are we really even thinking at all?

Professional athletes rob people every time they step on the field. Along with the whole professional sports system. All that money wasted. Ticket prices are insane. Food and concession prices are a rip-off. The money advertisers spend on promoting themselves.

This is what’s wrong with America. An entire industry which produces nothing except narcissistic athletes and sycophantic fans. We wonder why we can’t feed everyone? Why people live in ghettos? Why people die due to lack of health care? Americas insatiable appetite for vapid, senseless violence disguised as sports.

At least the comics makes people think. And yet cartoonists get paid a fraction of what people like Vick make.

    Ok…now I get this cartoon…sorry…I empathize.

    It’s satire…and its okay.

That’s what comics are supposed to be. I guess Ben wasn’t in on Vick’s secret little part time gig so he had no reason to show up at his door.

You are taking this wayyyyyyyy too seriously.

I loved David Carradine but couldn’t help having funny thoughts about his ummm death.

I’ve wondered over and over again why no one thought of the one liners I had pop into my mind.

They were funny. I’m sure David would have laughed at them himself…well, if he could.

It was sad to lose him the way we did.

Okay, so I chuckled at the way we lost him, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that to this day I call people grasshopper or weedhopper (satirical parody) because of his Kung Fu days.

He showed us you can come and go at the same time there at the end and he did it by trying to become a skeleton in his own closet.

I hope he at least enjoyed the effort.

See you in the afterlife David where we can laugh together.

As one who believes in “an eye for a tooth” for those who don’t show genuine remorse, I’ve always felt Vick will never be properly punished until he’s thrown to a pack of feral, starving dogs or drawn and quartered. So long as it’s a slow, agonizing end.
