Whatever branch of the military, I have to wonder about the pushed up shirt sleeves in Anarctica. Maybe his brain is frozen?

It’s summer there. Always wear short sleeves in the summer.

Part of me resented the attribution of idiocy to the U.S. Marines, until I remembered that I left after two tours of duty, due to complete frustration after 6 years of taking orders from complete incompetents.

Semper Fidelis gets flagged, too. But “Μολών Λαβέ” (“Come and claim it”) doesn’t.

Tom Lehrer had two songs entitled “Send the Marines” and “It Makes a Fellow Proud to Be a Soldier.” Reading these strips, I can almost hear good ol’ Tom singing in the background.
