Isn’t she nice? She gave Opus a book about Bill the Cat!

Breathed seems a little bitter about it all. He must not have enjoyed his college experience.

Ignore me if I’m wrong here, but it seems to me that each generation thinks that they and they alone did big, meaningful, important things and set a standard for coolness that will never be surpassed. And therefore the next generation is a bunch of shallow twits and the previous generation was a bunch of stodgy weenies.

So, please allow me to share a little observation: we’re all humans and, therefore, deep down in our very souls; we’re all crazy.

I remember the ‘Truly Tasteless Jokes’ series of books from that era.

EJCapulet - I think the Korean War generation dodged that bullet. Of course, 26 years later, conservatives still like to tell themselves they’re rebellious non-conformists because they aren’t liberals.

Interesting that the “hippie” character is being displayed as conservative. My memory is that it was quite the opposite.

27 years later, the governor of Arizona is singing a new version of “This Land Is My Land.”

In 1985, I was the only hippie on campus. You couldn’t buy tie-dyes back then, so I made my own. I even sometimes wore flowers in my hair.
