The Boondocks by Aaron McGruder for May 24, 2009
Transcript:
Caesar: Nothing like "war" to put things in perspective... kinda makes everything we were worried about before seem small and insignificant. Huey: Yeah. Caesar: Like the fact that Eddie Griffin is making a new movie called "my babies' mamas"... just doesn't seem like a big deal anymore... Huey: Wait... say that again? Caesar: It makes one wonder, will any of us ever be the same... Huey: "My babies' mamas"?! Is that what you said? "My babies' mamas"?! Caesar: Will things ever go back to the way they were?! Huey: "My babies' mamas"?!

Why is the Sunday Boondocks always shown with the speech balloon words Unreadably Small? I understand why newspapers do it – saving paper and ink – but on the web, a bit more resolution costs almost nothing.

Yes, and I’d like to be able to read the original pub date too. Was it 2001? This locution (and corresponding “baby daddy”) have become so normalized, it’s refreshing to see the outrage from earlier days,

If you want to enlarge it in steps, just hit “Ctrl” and “+” to get it where you want it. “Ctrl” and “-” steps it down in size. Hold both keys down for rapid size change. (I don’t have any idea about Macs.)

Yes, 2001. I’d guess October, based on the previous dailies, but I can also see the ‘2001’ in the (relatively) hi-res picture.

The resolution’s better if you click the picture (although not as good as it should be, in this case).
