49’er flapjacks, sausage links, Ruby red grapefruit juice which I will drink after i finish Doc’s coffee.

Went to get our newspaper this morning and I slept through quite a doozy of a storm. We have never had our deck furniture travel across our yard. One chair came very close to going through a window. Surprisingly, we didn’t lose power, but Bellingham had areas that did. It is to dark yet to see what else awaits me out there.

Doc - something is amiss with my return button I guess. I do not double click, but it somehow thinks that I did. It looks like JFri got much of the same weather as we did up here. That was quite a storm. Glad that I slept through the worst of it, otherwise i would have been worrying all night.

chipmuuuunks roasting on an open fire (wish i could do the musical notes)… GOOD MORNING, Tribe would have been here sooner, but i decided to catch up on all of yesterday’s posts first. if we do put the band together, i could probably manage to pick up the bass again in short order. (that would be the wind instrument similar to a tuba or sousaphone, not the stringed instrument favoured by rock bands). i was pretty good in my early teens.

split pea soup would sound good to me, jdoc but i got spoiled by the version my Mom used to make. i still eat it, at times, but it just isn’t the same.

we are going to work (*sigh). sometimes i hate living backwards from the rest of people. i wonder if DocT does as well. now i’ll have to come back tonight, to see if he answers.

@DocT, yes, once you meet someone, you find ways to make it work. Not too difficult, so long as you each sleep 8 or so hours a day (or less) leaving at least 8 hours when you are both awake.

The hard part is finding that someone!

The last time that I tried to come here, you all were in a discussion with someone from the Gocomics staff about someone who kept flagging your comments and was very annoying. Why do jerks come to our fun sites and try to ruin everyone’s fun time. Because of who ever this person was I chose to skip commenting with you all and moved on to the next comic.

JFri - When I was working as a travel photographer, I was just outside Savannah, trying to take a picture of this plantation house. As I was adjusting the composition, I began backing up to make sure I had everything in the frame that I wanted. Something made me turn around and I was about 2 feet away from stepping on an alligator that was about 5 feet long. Fortunately he didn’t attack. I learned a lesson though.

I usually try to read the conversation thread, so I can keep up on what’s been said. Some days though, I don’t get that done, especially if I’ve had very limited internet time. (Either internet down or RL interferring.)

Hi, Lonewolf & Cleo! Cleo - I did read that, and wondered what your patio furniture is made out of. Ours is that cast iron metal, because plastic or wicker would blow off on regular days, not just stormy ones.

These comics about food are tough. I recently lost 26 pounds and I really wouldn’t have been considered overweight before I lost the pounds, but I feel much more comfortable at the weight I am now. The only downside is that I love good food and now breakfast, lunch and dinner are over with so quickly. LOL

Cleo - As much as I love food, I haven’t noticed the comics being a problem. Today though, it was sorta funny. I had some black webbing (like for straps) wound up and secured with a thick rubberband. This was sitting on my desk with a lot of other clutter. Everytime I’d notice it, I’d think “Oreo cookie!” and finally had to go put it away where it belongs, just so I could quit having that image. Both of my sons agreed that on first glance it DID look like an oreo, so I know it wasn’t just me.

Doc - Did Dry get tired of waking you up each evening? She used to have so much fun doing that!

Sorry, my computer was slow refreshing. I’m also multi-tasking. Shika - Thanks for asking. I’m feeling okay - just really, really busy. Still have homeschooling to do, plus now I’ve been busy trying to get Mom’s business affairs taken care of, write thank you notes for the memorial donations, work on cleaning out her house…. Tomorrow I’m going to go visit my hubby. I think it will be a nice break, although I probably ought to work on the thank you notes while I’m there. He’s been working mega hours for weeks, except for the week between her death & the funeral. I need to make reservations for Thanksgving weekend. Our 25th anniversary is on the 24th, so we are planning a short trip away (w/o kids!). Then, we plan on going to FL for Christmas to see his parents & some friends of ours. Lots of stuff for me to do!!!
