oh johnny Building snowmen is fun!,That is ONE nice thing about snow. We had 4 inches, then sleet, then rain, now what’s left is getting a crust on it.

Terry it is both clear and very cold which is very much “different” than normal here. The clear is nice the cold is cold.

Doc paradise awaits you outdoors but the chill prevents you from enjoying it. Sounds like torture to me. LOL

Well all you jolly tribesters, I am off to do a bunch of errands, braving the bitter cold to accomplish them.

Doc I like driving in snow too and I am experienced at it. Unfortunately living where I do now, all joy has left me. We have to many drivers that do not have a clue how to drive in snow or ice and have added a very large dose of apprehension into the experience.

The snow is all but gone this morning, it is kinda sad. I do enjoy being able to walk around without worrying about falling, so that is nice.

While I was out there I saw a brown spot laying on the patio. When I took it inside where it is SLIGHTLY warmer it disappeared and went pffffffffbt!

good afternoon Tribe. we finally had our first snowfall overnight, but it’s changed to rain as the temp has gone up and by the time i get home from work it will probably all be gone again. we are supposed to be getting flurries, off and on, for the next few days - and much colder. supposed to be highs in the low 20’s F by weekend. It’s beginning to look like it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…

None of those heavy frost flakes coming down–but we’re colder than you. -3 °F (-19 C), and it was about -20 °F this morning.

Not so much wind, though. Although I will say that walking upwind is hard, not because of the pressure so much as the frigid cold on my face. Yikes!

I’m not even tempted to look for metal to try to lick…

Oooh, Bmonk, I did something similar to that as a toddler way back when. I smashed my front teeth on a tricycle and grabbed a metal door knob with a blood soaked hand! It hurt when my mother unknowingly yanked my hand from the door knob!

It is crazy out there. Shopping for anything at this time of year is definitely far from enjoyable.

The “care packages” consisted mostly of food stuffs; regional goodies that could not be gotten locally. I’d send Ro-Tel spicy tomatoes, Zapp’s potato chips, Ranch Style Beans, things of that sort.

Howdy Shika, wouldn’t you know that I would miss you. If you see this later, not much new, just awaiting a trip up to Canada for Christmas. I have a cousin that lives in Silver Creek, BC. For at least six years in a row I would go and spend Christmas with her and her family and stay for about ten days each visit. I got to know her neighbors and friends and it became a second home for me, with me off on adventures with friends, even separate from her family. My wife and I are going up from Dec. 23 to 27 and looking forward to it. What are your plans for Christmas?

Howdy Dry Are you staying warm and toasty? I find I have a very hard time at this time of year. (You know me and my love of clothes free living) We went to town today and I dressed in clothing to protect from the cold, but with each store that I would enter, I would find myself more and more uncomfortable with the heat inside after dressing for the cold outside. As the day wore on, I started shedding more and more clothing until the back of my car resembled a used clothing store. I just got to durn warm with the heat in each store. Then you go outdoors and your perspiration turns to a chill. GIVE ME A TROPICAL CLIMATE WITH EVEN TEMPS.
