Morning Doc, Cleo, and JFRI!! What a way to start my day! I’ll have the egg frittata, and some English breakfast tea. And a spoonful of JFRI’s pudding.
Good morning all. Can I get the pan-fried trout and a couple of eggs over easy, with grits please? Breakfast is such an important meal when you’ve been awake all night and have to work all day anyway.
I think the rBST is some kind of cow steriods. Always check expiration dates. I think sometimes they don’t keep stuff stored at a cold enough temperature and voila early spoilage, also yucky icecream.
Good morning all. Got half a snow day anyway. Office closed this morning, waiting to hear about afternoon. Street in front of my house is a sheet of ice so I hope I can stay put.
Hello all I usually don’t go on this strip but see others and I’m not creative enough for breakfast I have read other comments here and it takes too long to go through. My type of breakfast is I call healthy for me and simple. Cold weather I eat flavored oatmeal, rasinbran, and an Quaker oat cereral. So far the last I can only find in one place where I live. I know we should be entitled to privacy how much does one say?
Zooming through today, to say a quick hello!
I’m with serena - it is rare that I try to list everyone’s names, as there are too many, and I hate to accidently omit someone.
Welcome, Kab2rb - I’m near enough to Wichita that I’m in there frequently. In fact, that’s where my recently deceased mom lived, and so I’m headed into work on cleaning out her house.
Rmom I am from Wichita, KS I work pt office specialist and that is outside of Wichita. My dad is at Resthaven my mom is very much alive and in two months will be having a birthday. I married a man who lived outside of Wichita but almost two years ago we moved to Wichita where there are no jobs :( as everywhere else.
Sorry about your mother.
kab2rb - My Dad died in 2001. Mom suffered a series of strokes, so as much as I miss her, I had already started missing so much of her before her death.
Jobs are on the scarce side everywhere these days. I’m thankful my hubby’s working, but he’s in SEK, so I usually only see him on weekends.
Tabby, when you say 23 days, are you counting today, or is your birthday on the 24th, which is a Wednesday, which makes it bad enough, but that particular Wednesday I will have my usual hellish schedule, plus two exams, possibly three.

The think I don’t like about the back-up setup with Vista is that it does the back-up to a disk, but then it doesn’t close the disk. When you try to eject it, only then does it close out the disk, which takes a minute or so, before you can remove it or log off–which is a bother if you forget to do it before then.
No falling frost here - but 6 inches of it 2 hours north.
Shika
Eggs Benedict are poached eggs served on canadian bacon and dolloped with hollandaise sauce.I really want to say there’s an Englsih muffin under it all, but it doesn’t sound quite right.
Eggs Benedict, when I’ve had them, are poached eggs on ham and a toasted half English muffin, covered with the hollandaise sauce. Yummy, but probably a ton of cholesterol and calories…
And, what’s more, Vista always has to stop and ask for permission–even when you just opened the dern program.
American Canadian Bacon vs. Canadian Canadian Bacon
“In the US, Canadian Bacon is typically sold as precooked, cured and smoked meat, much like a ham. In Canada, what people consider Canadian bacon is often what Americans would call Peameal Bacon. It’s the same cut of meat, also cured, but it hasn’t been smoked. The name comes from its being rolled in meal…nowadays cornmeal is more popular, but the name peameal persists from the olden days. Both styles can be great, if they’re made the right way.”
Edit (again…): So, yes, peameal bacon would be your Canadian bacon–but if you want to get Eggs Benedict (or certain types of pizza) with authentic America flavor, you’d need the round slice of pre-cooked and smoked ham…
Canadian bacon is bacon, cured, but not very smoky, and it is formed into a roll, so instead of strips of bacon, youget a round of bacon.
Hollandaise sauce is sort of like mayo, but it has lemon juice and sometimes lemon zest, and is served warm. It’s yummy and a little goes a long way as it’s so rich.
We have strips of bacon. Now figure this out. Our Maple Leaf brand bacon is made in the States. I have to buy President’s Choice to get Candian strip bacon. How much sense is that?
@celecca, I bow to your greater expertise, but may I just add that hollandaise sauce is also rather more runny than mayonaise, more like a heavy cream than a sour cream in consistency?
“AS far as Vista - have you noticed the more “helpful” and user-friendly software is, the more frustrating it is to work with?”
Yes, we have a Xerox (R) Copy Center (T), and the dern thing can be so frustrating. Put a sheet of paper in and mash the start button, and it tells you to load x type of paper, and verify you loaded it, or else you must go into conniptions to tell it to copy at 100% on letter paper. So helpful, I want to boot it into Montana!
Luckily, at the other office, we have a copier (Mita?) that has a default of 100% on letter paper. Want anything else, and you tell it what to do.
We just got a new copier at work, and the things is so dang ed fast that it makes it own paper jams. I can’t kick quite as far as you, but I’ll settle for NC! :}
Whatever happened to allowing us to think for ourselves? Uh-oh - the rise of the machines, and I bet they never heard of Assimov (sp).
I’m going to do this all over again, which is pissing me off!
bmonk I meant your smile, I like it better than mine, but then I always forget that Character Map, so I think I got that! I had a smile up too, but like I said, gremlins at work!
Celecca and Shika Canadian bacon here looks nothing like bacon. It looks more like a round roll of the type of ham referred to as smoked pork chops. When I’ve been in Ontario and had Eggs Benedict, the Canadian Bacon looks the same as what I get here.
Hollandaise sauce is made with eggs, very rich, and YUMMY!!! And also goes good with asparagus.
@Shika and celecca, I’m no expert on cooking–only on eating! I think I know enough about cooking that, If I had to survive on my own efforts, I’d be able to last until I figured out how to make more tasty stuff. But, depending on how much concentration I put on it, it might take me a month or more to get there….
@Terry, it’s not so much problems, as annoyances. Little things that could be finished off better. Like checking who started a program before asking if it should continue, or preparing a disk to be ejected when it’s done backing up.
Some problems are not so small. My sister, an IT person in a good-sized corporation, once got a new computer and loaded, I think, Word 8.0 or something like that. Anyway, Windows got an update, and decided that Word also needed to be updated to version 6.0–and was ready to do it, except she noticed and stopped it. So she wrote a stiff letter to Microsoft asking why these nearly automatic updates hadn’t bothered to compare the current version number with the update version number.
Little things, usually annoyances–but sometimes potentially a real problem.
In some parts of Canada, they refer to canadian bacon as peameal bacon. The term “Canadian Bacon” is used in the U.S. amd is just like the Mickey D’s canadian bacon.
And the meals sounded great! Any eggs benedict left? I loooooooooooove Hollandaise. I make Knorr - just the right seasonings and so easy!
Cleo was it really nice in WA? Here it was drizzly all day! Yesterday, on the other hand was beautiful.
Cleo I found some beautiful looking broccoli today and was cleaning it, lightly microwaving it, and then making an Italian dressing to marinade it. Cool it, let it soak for awhile, GREAT snack food, or light accompaniment to a meal.
Good evening, Dawn, Dry, Cleo, Tabby and the rest of the tribe! I need to get some dinner cooking for me, I think I’ll raid the freezer for some Stouffer’s lasagna.
Dry, you mentioned asparagus recently. We have an asparagus farm nearby. I never knew how delicious it could be until we bought it right off the field! It and broccoli are both great with Hollandaise sauce - but the butter in the sauce probably negates any benefits from the vegs.
Cleo, I love broccoli, and amazingly so do my kids! I often will lightly steam that or cauliflower, put a dressing on it, marinade, and eat them cold. I do the same with asparagus.
Dawn I have grown my own asparagus for quite a while now. Fresh picked it tastes good just the way it is. They say if you eat too much your p e e turns green, but I never had that problem! LOL! Sorry folks, just thought I’d pass that little tid bit along! Oh, and the butter thing, I don’t use that much, and I use the (so called Healthy butters/margarines, whatever!)
Thanks for the explanation, Dawn.Dry - I’m not familiar with that side effect. But when my oldest was a baby, we fed so many carrots to him, he turned orange! (Thought he was becoming jaundiced, but he wasn’t.)
I’ve heard of both phenomena but haven’t had the experience. My husband on the other hand, has mentioned it. And you are right, Dry. I use the fresh in salads and just to dip like celery, and carrots. Yummmmmm. Now I am getting hungry!
Rmom yes I have heard of that happening. I eat a lot of carrots too and always wondered if that would happen to me, but it hasn’t. I like carrots, veggies, really. And I have a bad weakness for ANY KLONDYKE bar.
Actually Dry I stick with butter. The flavor is better and it is often better than some margarines. I use very little. For instance at dinner I use a very flavorful olive oil on my bread instead of butter or margarine. I never eat margarine and I only occasionally eat butter.
Ah… thanks Terrry. I, myself love Revellos (I think that’s how it’s spelt.) Chocolate covered white ice cream on a stick.
Well, the dictionary doesn’t like the word spelt, but spelled just doesn’t look right.
Dawn The Klondyke Bar has been around for YEARS. The logo is a polar bear, they now make Neopolitan, Heath, Oreo, Double Chocolate (JFri), Whitehouse Cherry, and on and on.
Doc, have them in your freezer? If not, YOU BEST GET SOME SIR! PRETTY PLEASE!
Cleo - I’m with you on the butter. My husband insisted we had to use real butter when we got married, so I went along. I’ve decided that the reason margarine is considered healthier, is because it doesn’t have a generation of testing on the general population. Besides, I’ve decided that since I’m going to die of something sooner or later, a heart attack doesn’t sound too bad of a way to go.
Dawn I have extra virgin olive oil for cooking, but I buy a high end extra virgin to drizzle on bread. It is pricey but lasts for a long time because you only drizzle it. Some places let you taste the olive oil and the flavors vary like wine.
when i got out of math this song was on i blared it till the end. i just love this song its got a great beat and words and its beautiful. hope you enjoy it
Cleo I’ll have to look for somewhere to try the different olive oils. I’m sure there’s a place around here.
Dry the different kinds of Klondike bars all sound great. I will have to try some when in the States. I don’t think they are in Canada, but you never know.
I think they have really improved margarines since the time we used to have to break the little capsule in the white marg and mix it through. Margarine wasn’t allowed to be sold yellow in Canada - only white. I use butter because my husband prefers it. I probably couldn’t tell the difference but he certainly can.
Dawn, I don’t know if you ever get down to LaConner in WA, but they have a place there called the Ginger Grater and they have a whole room devoted to tasting olive oils.
Good evening folks!
Looks like I might be scarce the next few days. Roommate broke his puter, and might have to split time with mine. Plus, it is getting to be a busy time for me.
Peace and love all, and I’ll see you when I can.
Carmy, i had a long busy day and got drenched in the rain many times, so the day was long. but math was good and i got to see walking buddy for about and hour and 1/2 so i was happy. i miss her.
when i got home form math supper was ready to eat all we had to do was sit down say grace and eat. it was great to come home to that, bro is up to something. lol
Very funny! Don’t be making fun of his cooking because it might discourage him from cooking again. He really should be helping out. As long as it’s edible, it’s okay, I think, maybe.
dawn i told him he has to cook on mondays and wednesdays if he wanted to eat at all those days. i have tomuch school on those days i dont get home for good till after 7 so im not going to start cooking then
Oh, and I finally baked that cranberry/walnut loaf! It loves heavenly and smells heavenly. I wonder why the recipe says to wait 24 hours to cut it though? :-(
Good thinking, Tabby and it worked!
Hi Shika. Welcome back. BTW, I looked up spelt and it is the passed of spell, as is spelled. Don’t know if one is an American spelling or not but both are correct. Mind you, my SIL uses spelt flour in her baking.
Shika, you probably have to wait 24 hours so you can’t eat all in one day. Good Night!Tabby, my avatar is Sally and Jack from “Nightmare Before Christmas.” I think it makes a cute Valentine photo though.
i seem to have spoon trouble today. for some reason i cant keep my spoon from falling this is the 2nd time i try to eat my ice cream and it falls. 2nd spoon as well
Shika Sorry I missed you! Eskimo Bars have the Eskimo boy in the parka for the logo, and not as many varieties. But ice cream is ice cream!
Anybody remember the neigborhood ice cream and snow cone trucks in the neigborhood when they were kids? BE CAREFUL BEFORE YOU ANSWER, MOST OF YOU WILL DATE YOURSELVES IF YOU SAY YES! LOL!
I remember the ice cream trucks, they used to drive down the beach too. They had real vanilla ice cream that they would swirl into the cone, dipped in chocolate if you wanted that. I don’t remember snow cone trucks. In Texas, we would go to a place that served homemade frozen fruit bars, they had many flavors. They also had snow cones and my favorite was leche canella (cinnamon milk).
ooh, dulce de leche is the best!Cleo, you can find the dulce con leche con cinnamon too.
The trucks here don’t have the REAL ice cream cones. They just sell the packaged treats that they probably just purchased at the local store with jacked up prices too.
Oh well I missed CleO! Enjoy the movie! I was so hungry for ice cream after all this talk, I went looking for some. I found one, mind you ONE, Good Humor Strawberry Ice Cream bar (bought at the store) and it’s MINE, ALL MINE!!! BWAAAHHH! NOBODY COME NEAR ME, I HAVE CARMY’S MACHETE!

Edit (again…): So, yes, peameal bacon would be your Canadian bacon–but if you want to get Eggs Benedict (or certain types of pizza) with authentic America flavor, you’d need the round slice of pre-cooked and smoked ham…
Shikamoo Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Sounds rich for my blood.
Oh, and what is hollandaise sauce? Like Mayonnaise?
Shikamoo Premium Member almost 15 years ago
I do know what an English muffin is, and also ham.
:-D
Shikamoo Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Yeah! What’s with that? It asks for permission, and then TELLS you to give it permission if you opened the program.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Now I tried to post another comment and it is doing nothing. The gocomic gremlins are at work again!
Shikamoo Premium Member almost 15 years ago
I like peameal bacon better than cured ham. I do like black forest ham though.
celeconecca almost 15 years ago
Canadian bacon is bacon, cured, but not very smoky, and it is formed into a roll, so instead of strips of bacon, youget a round of bacon.
Hollandaise sauce is sort of like mayo, but it has lemon juice and sometimes lemon zest, and is served warm. It’s yummy and a little goes a long way as it’s so rich.

I love cross-posting, don’t you?
AS far as Vista - have you noticed the more “helpful” and user-friendly software is, the more frustrating it is to work with?
Shikamoo Premium Member almost 15 years ago
We have strips of bacon. Now figure this out. Our Maple Leaf brand bacon is made in the States. I have to buy President’s Choice to get Candian strip bacon. How much sense is that?
bmonk almost 15 years ago
@celecca, I bow to your greater expertise, but may I just add that hollandaise sauce is also rather more runny than mayonaise, more like a heavy cream than a sour cream in consistency?
Shikamoo Premium Member almost 15 years ago
If my PC gets any friendlier, I may have to shoot it!
celeconecca almost 15 years ago
Hey - as long as it’s salty and smoky, I like it! Bacon, that is.
Shikamoo Premium Member almost 15 years ago
The finer points of sauces and meat cuts is lost on me. I love food, especially when someone else cooks it!
Although I enjoy my own cooking as well.
Shikamoo Premium Member almost 15 years ago
I like it crisp!
LOL So many posts on bacon.
Shikamoo Premium Member almost 15 years ago
bmonk Will you cook for me? Or are you an expert on other poeple’s cooking?
Shikamoo Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Guess I’d better get this over with.
Backing up now….
BBML
celeconecca almost 15 years ago
You’re right. I think it’s more runny because it’s warm and has a few less eggs.
I have no expertise, just an ex-husband who demanded Egss Benedict every Sunday morning. (I quickly found instant hollandaise mix!)

Want anything else, and you tell it what to do.
celeconecca almost 15 years ago
We just got a new copier at work, and the things is so dang ed fast that it makes it own paper jams. I can’t kick quite as far as you, but I’ll settle for NC! :}
Whatever happened to allowing us to think for ourselves? Uh-oh - the rise of the machines, and I bet they never heard of Assimov (sp).
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
And also goes good with asparagus.
bmonk almost 15 years ago
@Shika and celecca, I’m no expert on cooking–only on eating! I think I know enough about cooking that, If I had to survive on my own efforts, I’d be able to last until I figured out how to make more tasty stuff. But, depending on how much concentration I put on it, it might take me a month or more to get there….
celeconecca almost 15 years ago
Well - I have a load of things to do. I’ll try to check in later.
@Dry Good luck! I printed off the formatting guide I found by going to Pibgorn and try to keep it near, and I still forget to use it.
COWBOY7 almost 15 years ago
Good Afternoon Rmom, Tabby, Johnny, Celecca, Bmonk, Shika & Dry!
COWBOY7 almost 15 years ago
Celecca, I agree with you about Vista, but I don’t have very many problems with it.
bmonk almost 15 years ago
COWBOY7 almost 15 years ago
In some parts of Canada, they refer to canadian bacon as peameal bacon. The term “Canadian Bacon” is used in the U.S. amd is just like the Mickey D’s canadian bacon.
COWBOY7 almost 15 years ago
Bmonk–And such is the reason they now have Windows 7. I have the free upgrade I just need to put the time aside and convert!
COWBOY7 almost 15 years ago
And you’re right, Bmonk, if the user is not aware of the updates, it can cause problems!

Hello all. I am back from spending way to much money in town.
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
Quieted down around here, must be the east coaster eating din din. Certainly enough talk about food to make anyone hungry.
DawnAvril almost 15 years ago
And the meals sounded great! Any eggs benedict left? I loooooooooooove Hollandaise. I make Knorr - just the right seasonings and so easy! Cleo was it really nice in WA? Here it was drizzly all day! Yesterday, on the other hand was beautiful.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Cleo the East Coaster? Do you mean little ole me? :-D
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
Dawn it started out wonderful, then turned cloudy with occasional sprinkles.
DawnAvril almost 15 years ago
BTW Hello, Tribe! And welcome Newcomers.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Cleo I found some beautiful looking broccoli today and was cleaning it, lightly microwaving it, and then making an Italian dressing to marinade it. Cool it, let it soak for awhile, GREAT snack food, or light accompaniment to a meal.
tabbylynn almost 15 years ago
home ah sweet home. can i go to bed now???
Smiley Rmom almost 15 years ago
bmonk said, about a while ago Is anyone else getting even a dusting of falling frost today?
We’ve got freezing fog, does that count? Yesterday, the frost was falling off the trees, etc. Today, the frost is back on them.
Smiley Rmom almost 15 years ago
Good evening, Dawn, Dry, Cleo, Tabby and the rest of the tribe! I need to get some dinner cooking for me, I think I’ll raid the freezer for some Stouffer’s lasagna.
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
Wow, they return in droves.
I just found out today that broccoli is a good source for potassium and of course postassium can lower blood pressure and improve bone density.
DawnAvril almost 15 years ago
Dry, you mentioned asparagus recently. We have an asparagus farm nearby. I never knew how delicious it could be until we bought it right off the field! It and broccoli are both great with Hollandaise sauce - but the butter in the sauce probably negates any benefits from the vegs.
DawnAvril almost 15 years ago
Cy’a RMom.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Cleo, I love broccoli, and amazingly so do my kids! I often will lightly steam that or cauliflower, put a dressing on it, marinade, and eat them cold. I do the same with asparagus.
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
Dawn are you a little cupid like me? Your avatar looks like a cupid with one of those bubble toys.
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
Actually, I probably look more like a little angel, but it is only because I left my bow and arrows at home.
Smiley Rmom almost 15 years ago
Dawn - Perhaps I’ve heard “Cy’a” before, but seeing it written, I’m at a lost for its meaning.
DawnAvril almost 15 years ago
C’ya - See you - RMom but shortened for texting. Misplaced the appostrophe. Oops!
DawnAvril almost 15 years ago
Yes, Cleo, I am blowing hearts instead of bubbles. I do like your Bart, though. But isn’t he clothed????
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Dawn I have grown my own asparagus for quite a while now. Fresh picked it tastes good just the way it is. They say if you eat too much your p e e turns green, but I never had that problem! LOL! Sorry folks, just thought I’d pass that little tid bit along! Oh, and the butter thing, I don’t use that much, and I use the (so called Healthy butters/margarines, whatever!)
Smiley Rmom almost 15 years ago
Thanks for the explanation, Dawn. Dry - I’m not familiar with that side effect. But when my oldest was a baby, we fed so many carrots to him, he turned orange! (Thought he was becoming jaundiced, but he wasn’t.)
DawnAvril almost 15 years ago
I’ve heard of both phenomena but haven’t had the experience. My husband on the other hand, has mentioned it. And you are right, Dry. I use the fresh in salads and just to dip like celery, and carrots. Yummmmmm. Now I am getting hungry!
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Rmom yes I have heard of that happening. I eat a lot of carrots too and always wondered if that would happen to me, but it hasn’t. I like carrots, veggies, really. And I have a bad weakness for ANY KLONDYKE bar.
Smiley Rmom almost 15 years ago
Dry - He probably turned orange, because he wasn’t getting a large variety of foods.
DawnAvril almost 15 years ago
Ok - now what is a Klondike bar, Dry?
COWBOY7 almost 15 years ago
Good Evening to Cleo, Dawn, Rmom, Dry & anyone else lurking………..

DawnAvril almost 15 years ago

DawnAvril almost 15 years ago

carmy almost 15 years ago
Yummm, klondike bars…
COWBOY7 almost 15 years ago
I’m hanging in there, Dawn.
A Klondike bar is like an ice cream snadwich, but it is a brand name.
COWBOY7 almost 15 years ago
Thay are gooooooooood!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Hello Carmy!
carmy almost 15 years ago
Dawn, a klondike bar is an ice cream sandwich, usually vanilla ice cream with a frozen chocolate covering.
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
Howdy Terry.
Actually Dry I stick with butter. The flavor is better and it is often better than some margarines. I use very little. For instance at dinner I use a very flavorful olive oil on my bread instead of butter or margarine. I never eat margarine and I only occasionally eat butter.
carmy almost 15 years ago
Hello Dawn, Terry, Doc, Dry and Rmom, sorry for the delayed greeting, I had klondike bars on my mind.
Smiley Rmom almost 15 years ago
Hi, Terry, Doc, Carmy and anyone else I missed.
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
Did I come across in the proper pompous bleeep tone? LOL
DawnAvril almost 15 years ago
Ah… thanks Terrry. I, myself love Revellos (I think that’s how it’s spelt.) Chocolate covered white ice cream on a stick. Well, the dictionary doesn’t like the word spelt, but spelled just doesn’t look right.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Dawn The Klondyke Bar has been around for YEARS. The logo is a polar bear, they now make Neopolitan, Heath, Oreo, Double Chocolate (JFri), Whitehouse Cherry, and on and on.
Doc, have them in your freezer? If not, YOU BEST GET SOME SIR! PRETTY PLEASE!
Hi Carmy and DocT. Didn’t sound pompous to me, Cleo. Just delicious suggestion.
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
I eat Spelt bread for lunch.
Smiley Rmom almost 15 years ago
Cleo - I’m with you on the butter. My husband insisted we had to use real butter when we got married, so I went along. I’ve decided that the reason margarine is considered healthier, is because it doesn’t have a generation of testing on the general population. Besides, I’ve decided that since I’m going to die of something sooner or later, a heart attack doesn’t sound too bad of a way to go.
COWBOY7 almost 15 years ago
Good Evening Doc.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Dawn, you’re welcome.
COWBOY7 almost 15 years ago
Cleo, I am the same way with butter vs margarine. Wolfangil has tried to change that with me but to no avail.
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
Dawn I have extra virgin olive oil for cooking, but I buy a high end extra virgin to drizzle on bread. It is pricey but lasts for a long time because you only drizzle it. Some places let you taste the olive oil and the flavors vary like wine.
tabbylynn almost 15 years ago
when i got out of math this song was on i blared it till the end. i just love this song its got a great beat and words and its beautiful. hope you enjoy it
carmy almost 15 years ago

carmy almost 15 years ago
Tabby, I like that song. I heard this one today and thought of you.

cleokaya almost 15 years ago
You know the good thing about leaving clothes on the hangers is that it makes heiny pinches so much more tactile. LOL
DawnAvril almost 15 years ago
Cleo I’ll have to look for somewhere to try the different olive oils. I’m sure there’s a place around here. Dry the different kinds of Klondike bars all sound great. I will have to try some when in the States. I don’t think they are in Canada, but you never know.
DawnAvril almost 15 years ago
I think they have really improved margarines since the time we used to have to break the little capsule in the white marg and mix it through. Margarine wasn’t allowed to be sold yellow in Canada - only white. I use butter because my husband prefers it. I probably couldn’t tell the difference but he certainly can.
carmy almost 15 years ago
Cleo, you’re like an open season for hiney pinches.
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
Dawn, I don’t know if you ever get down to LaConner in WA, but they have a place there called the Ginger Grater and they have a whole room devoted to tasting olive oils.
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
If you people haven’t tried European butter, you do not know what you are missing. It is sinful.
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
Carmy I have always like the glow generated by pinched cheeks.
carmy almost 15 years ago
That doesn’t surprise me at all, Cleo, ;-) Where do you find European butter?
DawnAvril almost 15 years ago
If/when we get there, we’ll definitely stop there, Cleo. And * Carmy,* my question exactly.
johnnydoc5 almost 15 years ago
Good evening folks! Looks like I might be scarce the next few days. Roommate broke his puter, and might have to split time with mine. Plus, it is getting to be a busy time for me. Peace and love all, and I’ll see you when I can.

Carmy, i did and its turning out to be a good evening so im happy.
how was your day? seems like we have not talked in a while
carmy almost 15 years ago
Tabby, that’s good news! My day was full of running errands. It was okay, just a bit tiring. I took a before dinner nap. Daughter #1 made spaghetti.
tabbylynn almost 15 years ago
Carmy, i had a long busy day and got drenched in the rain many times, so the day was long. but math was good and i got to see walking buddy for about and hour and 1/2 so i was happy. i miss her.
when i got home form math supper was ready to eat all we had to do was sit down say grace and eat. it was great to come home to that, bro is up to something. lol
carmy almost 15 years ago
I’m glad you spent some time with walking buddy :) Did bro make the supper?
tabbylynn almost 15 years ago
yes, bro cooked. i was scared to eat it at first. lol
carmy almost 15 years ago
Very funny! Don’t be making fun of his cooking because it might discourage him from cooking again. He really should be helping out. As long as it’s edible, it’s okay, I think, maybe.
tabbylynn almost 15 years ago
what movie is your pic from? i didnt tell him anything about his cooking i just thought it hehe

Hello Shika
BTW, I didn’t comment on the word “spelled”. ???????
Shikamoo Premium Member almost 15 years ago
I think I’ll leave that last typo.

DawnAvril almost 15 years ago
Good thinking, Tabby and it worked! Hi Shika. Welcome back. BTW, I looked up spelt and it is the passed of spell, as is spelled. Don’t know if one is an American spelling or not but both are correct. Mind you, my SIL uses spelt flour in her baking.
carmy almost 15 years ago
Shika, you probably have to wait 24 hours so you can’t eat all in one day. Good Night! Tabby, my avatar is Sally and Jack from “Nightmare Before Christmas.” I think it makes a cute Valentine photo though.
tabbylynn almost 15 years ago
shika, hi
carmy i have never seen that movie it is a cute pic.

if its choclate rocky road then its okay my favorite choclate ice cream.
oh i LOVE mississipi mud pies. (ice cream sandwich thing)
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Shika Sorry I missed you! Eskimo Bars have the Eskimo boy in the parka for the logo, and not as many varieties. But ice cream is ice cream!
Anybody remember the neigborhood ice cream and snow cone trucks in the neigborhood when they were kids? BE CAREFUL BEFORE YOU ANSWER, MOST OF YOU WILL DATE YOURSELVES IF YOU SAY YES! LOL!
carmy almost 15 years ago
Terry, are you screaming for ice cream?
tabbylynn almost 15 years ago
every sat at 11 the ice cream tuck passes over here. :0) so haha i did not date myself. :0P
tabbylynn almost 15 years ago
yea terry, whats all the screaming about?
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
See you johnnyd.
Still on the food topic I see. Well since we are, would any of you young ladies like me to nibble on your ears. :-)
carmy almost 15 years ago
I remember the ice cream trucks, they used to drive down the beach too. They had real vanilla ice cream that they would swirl into the cone, dipped in chocolate if you wanted that. I don’t remember snow cone trucks. In Texas, we would go to a place that served homemade frozen fruit bars, they had many flavors. They also had snow cones and my favorite was leche canella (cinnamon milk).
COWBOY7 almost 15 years ago
Iiiiiiiiice Creeeeeeeeeeam for ice cream.
And yes I remember the trucks…………………..from old movies! LOL
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
Until I started making my own ice cream my favorites were Ben & Jerry’s Cherry Garcia and Dulce de Leche.

cleo LOL so odd i am eatting ben and jerry;s cherry garcia as i type this.
carmy almost 15 years ago
ooh, dulce de leche is the best! Cleo, you can find the dulce con leche con cinnamon too. The trucks here don’t have the REAL ice cream cones. They just sell the packaged treats that they probably just purchased at the local store with jacked up prices too.
COWBOY7 almost 15 years ago

Cherry Garcia,Tabby you are indeed a young woman of substance. Save me the cherries and chocolate bits.

tabbylynn almost 15 years ago
cleo i love you man, but i would fight you for the cherries. lol also great answer as to why i have the trucks.
