LuvH8 glad you like the pics on photobucket. i haven’t had the time to complete the album, yet. what’s there is from Sault Ste Marie until i hit the Rockies - if i remember correctly. i still have to add photos of going through the mountains and back across the prairies to Fall colours in Northern Ontario on the way home. THEN i have to find the time to add albums for my trips to Washington DC and the Finger Lakes, but by then i’ll have been back to the Finger Lakes and maybe even the trip to Princeton will have gone by. (hopefully it won’t take me that long. i’ll keep you posted, if you like.)

Doc you certainly do sound like one of Snow White’s dwarfs with identity issues. do you get Grumpy when you’re too Sleepy?

Just got back from the hospital. My mother is going home as soon as she signs out. My sister is staying with her while the paperwork to sign her out is being done. She has a follow up doctor’s appointment next week, so hopefully everything is good. Still worried though. Now I’ve got to get her dog packed up and take her back to my mother’s house.

So how long are you at work for?

Sure.

I’m at home now. I usually do a 7AM to 4:30 stint unless it’s Friday in which case I try to get out as early as I can. Unfortunately, this Friday, I don’t think I’ll be getting out early.

I wish I had digital photos of the Grand Canyon to show you. I just may have to go back to get some.

Don’t you have any you can scan in? or no scanner? Did you see I added the link? I don’t have much of interest to show. But I have a picture I made of my friend Fred.

Grog - I took my digital camera to the Grand Canyon. I’ll have to see about posting some pics from there. It will probably be a week or so (remind me) as I’m trying to figure my mom’s tax return. Then I have to figure my hubby’s & my tax returns. I hate having to do them this close to the deadline, but couldn’t help it this year.

Rmom ~ You must really enjoy being able to walk outside and see such beautiful views.

Grog ~ Did you have fun there?

LuvH8, it was a while ago, but yes I did. I did the tour as part of a trip to Phoenix. I was still living in Montreal at the time. I booked the trip after the first snow fall of the season. Ended up going the week before Christmas. The weather was great in Phoenix and a little crisp but nice around the canyon area.

I don’t have a scanner, but I finally broke down and bought a digital camara last year. I can probably get some local pics when I have some time.

I just wish we could have added onto the house like we originally planned, so that I’d have more windows facing that direction. But it is a really beautiful lot with great views. My lilac bushes should be in bloom in April, if we don’t get a frost that kills the blossoms. My favorite time to be outside!

Rmom I love the smell of lilacs. We have two shades of purple, I hope they bloom soon.

I’m glad I’m not the unknowing cookie-holic victim who’d bite on that gag.

I don’t know where my mom got the idea, but it has been a favorite family prank to pull since I was a child. Last year, my sister & mom pulled it on one of the home health aides.

Cute gag, Rmom. As long as I’m watching it transpire. LOL

There are some advantages to being finicky - I don’t really like coconut, so I was never a victim to that particular prank.

I don’t like coconut, so I wouldn’t fall for that prank. But if you were to bake some fake peanut butter cookies, I’d undoubtedly bite.

I made some chocolate chip cookies & some oatmeal cookies, so there will be an assortment. My youngest son will take them to his bowling league, and he likes chocolate chip. That way, he can be munching on those, while he watches the unsuspecting victim(s).

My peanut butter cookies are well liked, except the son that is taking these, doesn’t like peanuts or peanut butter in any form.

I suppose I could figure out a way to make peanut butter prank cookies. Mom was VERY creative!

Mom put salt in the sugar bowl, one year. Another year, she put a flat canning jar lid in Dad’s sandwich. The following year (because he complained that he almost broke a tooth) she cut out a circle of paper towel, and put that in instead.

Not that I am a big cookie freak, but I think that may be enough to turn me off of cookies on April fools day. I’m glad there are no pranksters at the office.

Those are some creative pranks, Rmom. You’ve got me laughing pretty good here. LOL

She told me of one idea that I don’t think she actually pulled. Take gauze, cut a circle & make pancakes. Pour the batter, place the gauze circle so the batter bubbles up through the holes, and then flip at the proper time. Telling my husband these pranks while we were still engaged, kept me from ever having to pack his lunch. He said he didn’t want to have to look at the calendar before he ate his lunch.

What is the best part, is what the victims tell us afterwards. One new youth pastor’s wife, thought for the longest time that my mom was the world’s worst cook. One pastor was notorious for always being on a diet, so she told them they were diet cookies. He put the plate of them on his dash, thinking of them all day long, while he made his rounds. Yep, they were definitely diet cookies! My youngest brother liked to sneak up to the sugar bowl, and eat a spoonful when Mom wasn’t watching. Mom hadn’t gotten the sugar back in the bowl yet, and my brother got cured of his bad habit. :)

I have to admit, it has been pretty nice to not have to pack my hubby’s lunch all these years.

I’m going to have to head to bed soon. The cookies are all out of the oven, and the dishwasher is running. I’ve got to take that son to the doctor in the morning. He has a large mole on the back of his head. He’s had it for years, but it was always flat. Now it is raised, and I cut it when I buzzed his hair Saturday. Hopefully just benign, but we’re guessing he’ll get sent to a dermatologist to have it removed. The bowling is in the afternoon, so a long day ahead of me.

Just a quick hello. I visited my friend who had the stroke and he will be coming home on Saturday. I, as well as a host of his good friends, are going to be working to help him recover as much as he can at home. It has been a day of many errands. Take care all. I haven’t had time to read comments. twice in one day! been a while since i had time to visit that often (or to see the night crew). hellos to all! thanks to LuvH8 for linking the photobucket images from RMom and me (i don’t mind, but it’s probably easier for those who are interested to go there to look at them). you picked one of the ones i really liked though it doesn’t quite do justice to the fall itself (couldn’t get quite the right angle to show everything). RMom has a bunch in that album that made me say “WOW!” when i saw them.
