Have to go the the hospital later this morning - some kind of infection in the skin of the calves of both legs. Doc’s Nuclear Coffee would probably kill it on contact, but at the price of amputating both legs.

A highway patrolman pulled alongside a speeding car on the freeway. Glancing at the car, he was astounded to see that the blonde behind the wheel was knitting! Realizing that she was oblivious to his flashing lights and siren, the trooper cranked down his window, turned on his bullhorn and yelled, “PULLOVER! ”

“NO,” the blonde yelled back,”IT’S A SCARF!”

Joke Warning A blonde stormed up to the front desk of the library and said, “I have a complaint!” “Yes, Ma’am?” said the librarian looking up at her. “I borrowed a book last week and it was horrible!” Puzzled by her complaint the librarian asked “What was wrong with it?” “It had way too many characters and there was no plot whatsoever!” said the blonde. The librarian nodded and said, “Ahhh. So you must be the person who took our phone book.”

Warning ~ Joke ahead Sally goes to work one morning crying her eyes out. Her boss, concerned his employee, walks over to her and asks sympathetically, “What’s the matter?” The blonde replies, “Early this morning I got a phone call that my mother had passed away.” The boss, feeling very sorry at this point suggests to the young girl, “Why don’t you go home for the day…we aren’t terribly busy. Just take the day off and go relax.” Sally very calmly states, “No I’d be better off here. I need to keep my mind busy and I have the best chance of doing that here.” The boss agrees and allows her to work as usual. “If you need anything just let me know” says the boss. A few hours pass and the boss decides to check on Sally. He looks out his office and sees her crying hysterically. He rushes over and asks, “What’s the matter now? Are you going to be ok?” Sally breaks down in tears. “I just received a horrible call from my sister. She said that her mom died too!!”

    JOKE ALERT

A man was in his front yard mowing grass when his attractive blonde neighbor came out of the house and went straight to the mailbox. She opened it then slammed it shut and stormed back into the house. A little later she came out of her house again, went to the mailbox and again opened it, and slammed it shut again. Angrily, back into the house she went.

As the man was getting ready to edge the lawn, she came out again, marched to the mailbox, opened it and then slammed it closed harder than ever.

Puzzled by her actions the man asked her, “Is something wrong?”

To which she replied, “There certainly is!”

My stupid computer keeps saying, “You’ve got mail!”

Last One - Have a GREAT Weekend all !!

The Circle A blonde has just gotten a new sports car. She cuts out in front of a semi, and almost causes it to drive over a cliff. The driver furiously motions for her to pull over, and she does. The driver gets out and draws a circle and tells her to stand in it. Then he gets out his knife and cuts up her leather seats. He turns around and sees she’s smiling. So he goes to his truck, takes out a baseball bat, and starts busting her windows and beating her car. He looks back to see that she’s laughing. He’s really mad now, so he takes his knife and slices her tires. He turns around and she’s laughing so hard, she’s about to fall down. He demands, “What’s so funny?” She says, “Every time you weren’t looking, I stepped out of the circle!”

Joke A guy goes into a store and tells the clerk, “I’d like some Polish sausage.” The clerk looks at him and says, “Are you Polish?” The guy, clearly offended, says, “Well, yes I am. But let me ask you something. “If I had asked for Italian sausage would you ask me if I was Italian? Or if I had asked for German bratwurst, would you ask me if I was German? Or if I asked for a kosher hot dog would you ask me if I was Jewish? Or if I had asked for a taco would you ask if I was Mexican? Would ya, huh? Would ya?” The clerk says, “Well, no.” With deep self-righteous indignation, the guy says, “Well, all right then, why did you ask me if I’m Polish just because I ask for Polish sausage?” The clerk replies, “Because this is Home Depot.”

I couldn’t decide whether these fit in this week’s JOKE theme or next week’s?

    WARNING ~ Long joke ahead

The following questions from lawyers were taken from official records nationwide:

    • Was that the same nose you broke as a child?

    • Now, doctor, isn’t it true that when a person dies in his sleep, in most cases he just passes quietly away and doesn’t know anything about it until the next morning?

    • Q: What happened then? A: He told me, he says, ‘I have to kill you because you can identify me.’ Q: Did he kill you?

Q: Was it you or your brother that was killed in the war?

Q: The youngest son, the 20-year-old, how old is he?

Q: Were you alone or by yourself?

Q: Do you have children or anything of that kind?

Q: I show you exhibit 3 and ask you if you recognize that picture? A: That’s me. Q: Were you present when that picture was taken?

Q: Were you present in court this morning when you were sworn in?

Q: Now, Mrs. Johnson, how was your first marriage terminated? A: By death. Q: And by whose death was it terminated?

Q: How many times have you committed suicide?

Q: So you were gone until you returned?

Q: She had three children, right? A: Yes. Q: How many were boys? A: None Q: Were there girls?

Q: You say that the stairs went down to the basement? A: Yes Q: And these stairs, did they go up also?

Q: Do you recall approximately the time that you examined the body of Mr. Edington at the Rose Chapel? A: It was in the evening. The autopsy started about 8:30 p.m. Q: And Mr. Edington was dead at the time, is that correct? A: No, he was sitting on the table wondering why I was doing an autopsy!

My contribution to the cook book-

1 pound of fresh tomatoes, scalded and peeled. 1/2 pound cucumber, peeled and seeded. 1/4 pound red ripe bell pepper, roasted, peeled, cored and seeded. 1/8 cup olive oil 1 tblsp chopped garlic salt and pepper to taste

Blend ingredients in a mechanical blender until desired consistency. I prefer a rather chunky consistency, but some like it smooth.

Chill, and serve with fresh cucumber and pepper slices and tortilla slices, if desired.

I stole this recipe from “Women on the Edge of a Nervous Breakdown,” one of my favorite Almodovar films.

    Call it “Hymenoxis’ Gazpacho.”

Dry, I’m trying a 3 to 1 vinegar to oil ratio. The vegetable oil I have in stock (and plenty of it) may not have any cholesterol, but is way too high in sat fats for my liking. I added some unblanched red & green sweet peppers & close to 1/4 cup of tabasco.

Doc - It seems like the last several months I’ve either been buying tires, or getting leaky ones fixed. When I went to take that car to get the tires today, the spare wouldn’t hold air. Ended up throwing the 3 tires in my PT cargo, since I didn’t know anyway to drive 15 miles on 3 tires. At least I got that done. I hope you have a better experience! (The tire shop was okay - it was just getting there & having to do it that was the problem.)

I have one of those big buckets of vegetable oil because I was doing a lot of deep frying a few years ago. I don’t do it much any more. If I do cook with oils (not deep frying), I tend to use peanut or olive oil.

Doc - I usually give myself twice to air it up, before I head to the tire shop. But it does depend on my schedule, and where & when I’m going. My husband will air up a tire many, many times, before taking it in. Of course, that task usually gets delegated to me, but I insist he picks out the tires, so that I get what he wants. I did buy a portable air compressor/battery charger on Black Friday, to help prevent being stranded or having to call AAA.

Dry, I’ve been a fan since the late Stauback era. Keep in mind that being Canadian, I was sheltered from the NFL for the longest time.

I blame it all on my Dad. He forced me to watch the Grey Cup one year in my early-teens when I was supposed to be doing my homwork. Little did he know he created a monster, who eventually learned the NFL was better!

Though I liked the Jimmy Johnson results, I agree about the disrespectfull dumping of Landy. And now they’ve gone from America’s team to America’s most wanted.

Grog he got the items from Irving Stadium because that is where his daughter worked! She was in the business office for the Cowboys Franchise!

Grog, the Cowboys still have a winning tradition. They are only a player or two from having a championship caliber team. They tore the Bulls apart i the late nineties too, but it is a business to them. I didn’t like it but one has to move on.

Dry, so your friend had some inside connections, cool! Gee, I bet all that stuff cost a bundle out on the street. Grog, the really cool thing is that my Mom and I have the same first name. I could pass off the autographs as mine.

Carmy as an adder to my previous post, I didn’t get to see too many games back in those days. We got more of the regional action which were Giants games. But the game that made me a fan was a Cowboys/ Redskins game those many years ago.

Grog, who was the QB in that game? Morton or Stauback? I remember watching the games and getting a kick out of seeing Laundry smiling every once in a blue moon.

Carmy & Dry: and here I have to drive up to Dallas if I want Cowboys stuff - but at least I have The Sunday Ticket. Though I love to go back to my (former) local sports bar for 1 game a year. Hopefully I can do it while on a business trip.

♠Lonewolf♠, the tradition may be there, but for as long as Jerry thinks that Romo is “the guy”, it ain’t happening.

I think the Bears could do better this year!

Grog, over in the town that I grew up in, some of the Cowboy players play basketball against the local police for a fundraiser. I went once and Michael Irvin and gosh, I can’t think of his name. Anyway, those guys could play basketball pretty good too.

The Bears have the pieces, but the WRs need to produce.

Romo acts as if he can do no wrong on the field. He needs to stay within his limits, let the game come to him. A better QB would make it easier for them though.

Carmy, I never saw Morton play live. If I remember correctly, the collection I have with the Game from Superbowl Xll, Stauback was the quarterback. I’ll have to watch it again soon though. Pat Summerall was a color commentator in that game!

I miss Summerall in the booth. :-(

♠Lonewolf♠, Romo is so insconsistent. He screw up, then works on the funamentals to the point of perfection and then forgets all about it in the next game because I think he just gets too cocky and forgets it all.

Carmy Collinsworth was a former Bengal WR. He started on FOX on their pre-game show and they moved him to the broadcast booth. (I think the FOX studio crew loathed him as much as I did). From there he went on to NFL network & NBC.

Carmy It’s worse than that. I will watch almost any game as long as the team(s) have a chance for the playoffs!

If the “Boys” aren’t playing, I will watch any good divisional rivalry.

A buddy of mine and I actually went to the second to last Steelers/Browns game before Modell moved the Ravens to Baltimore. Hate the Steelers, but hate Modell even more.
