I have a niece with three little French bulldogs, one of whom is named Sophie. I’ll have to send this cartoon to her. She will love it. Sophie, I mean. I don’t know about my niece. But how else is Sophie going to see it unless I send it to her “mom?” You didn’t think the dog had her own email, did you? Sheesh.

I’ll bet his first client was the evil cat next door to the Cliffords. Cleo may be heard muttering “told you so!”

Cleo says, “Cats are dirty creatures, and don’t deserve to be bathed. The best you can do for them is spray them with a hose if they get too loud at night.”

    Hullo, all…. here I am!

And here we are… and you.

    Welcome!

If you just happened to find us while you were strolling down Ballard Street….

enjoying some of the older neighborhoods and byways…

this is where we meet to comment on “CLEO and COMPANY” for 2019.

Today, that would be the July 22nd strip.

It’s on Sherpa… Tigressy gave the link, above.

Read it there, but because there are no forums on the current iteration of Sherpa…. come back and comment here.

    We’re hoping that Sherpa… um…. re/i>iterates soon.

I don’t think it has to be Klaude, to suffer from attempted cat-bathing.

The sweetest little wide-eyed ball of kitten-fluff proves that almost every cat carries ancient, fierce dragon genes, that activate when wet.

    I didn’t come from a feline-oriented family.

In fact, I’d say my mother believed that pets were basically wildlife… part of nature.

People belonged safely indoors; nature belonged outside, where it couldn’t harm you.

I got a cat…. actually won her, inexplicably, in an art competition …. when I was 15.

My mother said I couldn’t have her cos she didn’t want a “rodent” (!) in the house…. but my sister and I begged and pleaded, and prevailed.

Of course, the cat adored my mother, and jumped on her at every opportunity.

    Bye bye kitty…. sigh.

I adopted a kitten… my only other, cat, Flea, when I shared my first apartment.

I knew less than zero about cats.

Flea made me sniffle…. so my roommate suggested bathing her.

I discovered she’d go completely stiff and… yes, cat-atonic…. if picked up by the scruff of her neck,.

Lower her into warm water, and, waking up submerged, she purred.

Bathe her, dry her…. Bob’s yer uncle.

My almost fatal mistake was later assuming that would work for bathing my sister’s cat.

Cleo won’t be smiling when she gets home and finds all her kibble has been eaten and there is a big puddle of water on the floor. I’m surprised that the cat bather still has his arms.

Shark gloves that are made of mail or even an entire suit may help.

I have the same allergies Susan has. I love cats, but can only be around them a very short while. Maybe it’s because they don’t get bathed?

Love today’s new ‘toon. Especially Cleo’s “I told you so” look. Cracks me up.
