Well played. If we wanted the prisoners to become productive members of society, we’d send them to rehab. Prison should be for life and very very dire.
After 24 years of working in corrections I have learned that an inmate only becomes rehabilitated if he or she wants to. A crime bill that is touted by a politician as being hard on crime never reduced crime and only expanded our prison population.
